I just obtained a Frogs arcade cab.
Since this is a rather old machine, Im not sure if very many people have had any experience with it, or know any history on it.
Any info would be awsome!!!!
I pride myself on being knowlegable about VG history, and Im dying to learn about this specific game, the company that made it, produced it, whatever.
BTW...Are there any arcade lovers here that have a soft spot for old B&W cabs? :)

I also would like to know which is more common, the green or white cabinet.
Mine is green.

Yup. :) And particularly the old Gremlin ones, nice score! Quick question: does the cab have a strange smell? I've noticed that a lot of Gremlin cabs stink (open the coin door), maybe it's the wood they used?

The machine didnt have a noticable stench...at first.
I spent about, oh, 3-4 happy hours cleaning her up;
the machine was covered in grime. ( Now it looks new)
I thought I was done, then I remembered the top of the machine would be the dustiest :/
I get on a chair...and the smell hits me like a dirty daiper to
the face.
Some asshole spilled his soda/beer on top 20+ years ago and never cleaned it up. There was a grodie black puddle on my cab, that smelled like feces. Now its gone. :D
Other than that , it smelled fine.
I even stuck my face into the coin door to see if I could smell any trace of degredation or moisture.
This puppy didnt get much play.
I have a feeling its due to the "cutesy" frog side art. ;)
Best $14.00 ever!

Yup! The majority of my arcade collection consists of B&Ws - they're my favorites by far. The great thing about them is that they're generally less expensive than most "classics"; however, they're also far more difficult to locate. Especially in nice/working condition. I am totally jealous of your Frogs cab and demand pictures. Lots of pictures!
You're lucky you're 3000 miles away from here - otherwise, I'd be doing my very best con-you-into-selling-it-to-me job ;)

There's a guy on the MameWorld forums that goes by GregF. He's big time into the old B/W games. Had a hand in getting the driver proper in Mame for Frogs, IIRC.

Don't forget Mattel's Frog Bog for their own Intellivision.
I'm glad to see that yet another classic machine has been saved from being "toad" off to the scrapheap.

By the way, Truffle, is there a good story behind finding this one that you'd like to share?

I have a question for anyone who might have one of these too...
Im pretty sure Im missing a piece. The frog is supposed to stay on the "lilly pads"....What F#%&ing lilly pads? I say.
Is there supposed to be a bit of cardboard/plastic with these lilly pads on it used to reflect them onto the game screen? :?
Perhaps I just need to get inside a do some serious dusting.(Too bad a giant Black Widow resides somewhere deep inside :eek 2: )
Oh yeah.
Does anyone have the manual for this machine?
Some prick on ebay is charging $8 for a photo copy
Thanks again guys!
Hopefully I will have 1-2 more arcade machines on Monday.

IIRC, there's a plastic overlay with the lilly pads on it.
