Just out of curiousity, why when you have the ability to include the 'custom soundtrack' on the xbox games did almost every game not have it? Not a big deal to me cause I have my audio and video running on seperate switchers, but sometimes I just wish I could have the sounds of the game with the music i like in the background. I have 10 xbox games and none support that feature.

I agree it realy wasint used to its fullest extent. The only games the come to mind that had it was the GTA ports and the PGR games.

ESPN NFL 2k5 uses it. That is also the only game that I do own that uses it.
Very strange that they don't allow this on alot of other games. I guess they made a soundtrack for you to listen to with their game and they don't want you using another? Who knows.

well it isn't xbox's fault you know.
if the studio/publisher can't be arsed to use the feature in game what M$ can do?
force them to use and potentially piss game studios off?

I don't think I'd want a custom soundtrack in most of the Xbox titles I own...Ninja Gaiden with Pink Floyd, anybody? :X

along with other things syncing up to dark side of the moon.....
I'm not blaming microsoft for this, I just think it wouldn't have taken much to include this in games and sometimes I just don't want to listen to the games soundtrack.

Alot of my games support it. Sports and Racing games are sure to have support for it.

Really, it depends on the type of game it is. For example, nearly all the racing games on the Xbox support custom soundtracks, as do most of the alternative-sports games like Tony Hawk. I agree that there should have been more games that support it, but at least MS is really pushing developers to use it in 360 games as well as making developers make their 360 games HD.

Sadly enough I don't own a single sport or racing game, for any system made after the snes. Now snes football games, those were real sports games! And who can forget Blades of Steel for Nes? Bottom line, they bore me and I can usually beat them in a few hours. Wheres the challenge in that?

I know there are some titles that really needed it, but when its included it's a freakin godsend. Burnout 3 and Revenge anyone? Worst fucking soundtracks ever, but not anymore! EA sports definitely needed them.
Although, I don't know if ALWAYS having the ability to use custom tracks on the 360 is a good thing. It's great in PGR3, but I would imagine it could totally destroy a game like PDZ or Kameo. Both of them have excellent scores that very much so fit the theme of the game, and I really hope that developers don't get some kind of numbers on the people using personal soundtracks and decide to stop putting effort into great original music for their games.

A lot of my games use it. The PGR and RalliSport titles, Forza Motorsport, the GTA series. And I make use of it and each one.

I do agree with that, there are some truely great soundtracks out there. I just wish there was an option to use them or your own. Many games have a soft 'japanese' type music, and sometimes I just want to be able to substitute my own in. I definatly agree that the soundtracks in some games need to be played to get the full effect though.

2K sports used that feature better than anyone by letting you fully customize music for every game situation. In baseball, for example, you could set your own music for each individual batter, between innings, end of the game, etc. Kinda cool for a goofy White Sox fan like me who took full advantage of it as Journey's "Don't Stop Believin" became a team anthem this year. It's also kind of fun to customize to each city - "New York, New York" after Yankees wins, "I Love L.A. for the Dodgers, etc.

THPS2X has it!
All the Tony Hawks do (as do Aggressive Inline and Dave Mirra 2, and probably most extreme sports titles as well).

From what I've seen, the titles that include it for the most part are the titles that don't have a huge focus on music. Stuff like Tony Hawk or the 2K series don't need to have a big focus on music. And the games that have had it disabled are games that if you aren't listening to the sound, what's the point? Games where sound plays just as big a role as anything else.
I've been fine with it. When a game includes it, cool. When a game doesn't and I have to listen to the music, with rare exceptions, that's cool too.
