Some of the stupidest/least educated people I've met have also been the ones with the most money. Conversely, some of the brightest have been living in shacks. In this case, though, the buyer isn't necessarily "stupid" - they know what they want, have the money to get it, and don't want to be bothered with any legwork. That's just how it works.

Close to 2000.00 and reserve not met, the seller must have been paying close attention to the first one that ended so high. Still not worth it to me, but to some maybe?

Yeah, it's a pretty ugly paint job, the first one was much cooler, more professional looking, and looked nice.

definitely a shoddy spray job.
Why pay 2k+ for something like this when you can probably paint/modify your own unit for probably less than 100 dollars?
