A little shady, but if the auction goes for $250 that's $0.50 each, still a pretty good investment. And if multiple people want to go in on this with me, it means less duplicates for a single bidder.

Who's interested? Gotta work fast on this.

I'll split it with you.

couple questions:

would the seller split it up and ship to each person, or would he have to send them all to joe and then joe has to ship it to each person. we'd get jacked on shipping that way though.

by 2 people, do you mean you and neschampion, or is there another person?

how much do you think shipping should be?

Aren't you scared that it might be 300 copies of NHL95 and the rest some football games???

I was thinking the same thing :/ Of course NHL95 is my favourite hockey game so having 300 copies wouldn't be too bad :D

Well if Joe is buying them you might hear they all turned out to be prototypes. Then you will be sorry.

OK, my computer's messed up (this always happens at work). I'll take your word for it that this is worthwhile (I can't imagine that it's not at $0.50 each). Count me IN.

I want in too, Joe. I can always use more sega games. Just think if they are all NHL 95's, you could make a nice table out of them! LOL LOL LOL LOL

Beem me the details when you win it.

K, I don't know how you want to go about this but IMHO I think we should cap this off at 5 or maybe 6 people MAX.

Just looking at what this seller sells normally, it looks like he deals mostly in computers and parts, not a dealer, but I think it is worth a shot. Genesis titles seem to be a good investment. So I will definitely want to be in on this if possible.

That's 5 of us, I'll accept one more if our maximum bid is going to be $250.

So far, a piddly $50 each, and 100 games apiece (plus shipping).

I have to bid either very late tonight or very early tomorrow since I'm hittin' the road for NECG so one more person - decide fast!

Considering I only own 2 Genesis cartridges, I'll join to make it 6. Provide it's not too late.

@Joe: if we win, you don't have any problem with me picking this stuff up at your place to save the expense of a second ship do you?

I figured this is a good way to get a start on a collection.

OK that oughtta be enough. I can't imagine this going over $300. Then again, eBay buyers can be rather odd. So at THAT price, the most any of us will have to chip in is $50 plus shipping, and get 83 carts at $0.60 each.

Just so you know, I'm really not looking for anything in particular so we can all work together - even using a draft-style selection system for choosing the carts, assuming we win!

Looks like I got in on this a little late but if the price goes higher than you thought and you'd like to cut another in then just let me know.

Thanks!!

Hey guys -

If it's still not too late, and if the divvied-up cost is no more than $50, count me in too, after Savedman.

Thanks folks but the thing is, if it goes over $300 it stops being "a good deal" and starts being particularly complicated and maybe overpriced. At 0.60 apiece I can take even 40 of 83 carts being sports games which is likely. But beyond that, either in % of sports or in price, and I'd be out.

Some dickhead jacked it up to 290 so it's not likely we'll win anyway - but if someone wants to go higher than my 301.51 bid feel free, even if you want to split it amongst yoruselves, but I'm out at that point.

Let's see!

Did anyone notice it says in the ad that the picture might be a representation and not what you are actually getting?
I hope you guys aren't setting yourself up for a real let down.

Good point. However, the pic really isn't that revealing anyway. :-D

Doesn't matter now, we're out. Oh well, it was worth a try!

Goblin

It closed at $395. Since we didn't get it, I'm glad it went for well over 300. If it went for only for 305, I would have been slightly disappointed. Now I can sit back and say it wasn't worth it.

Yeah, the other thing I noticed was the $14 handling charge plus shipping. :o :o :o I don't know about you, but I think I could find a few cardboard boxes and packaging supplies for free or less than a buck or two. Oh well, it was a nice try, we should do this more often on large lots. It was a good idea Joe!

I checked shipping too, it was around $80 for ground if it was all in one box. (PLUS the $14 handling fee.)

Darth Vader
02-08-2003, 04:58 PM
WOW! That's really nice for the buyer! Add $94 for Shipping and handling! At most if they ship it via UPS ground in 2 boxes it would cost $50! Nothing like doubling your money of shipping. I have no problem with someone trying to cover the cost of shipping and materials and a minor amount of EPAY fees, but that is a shipping scammer!! If we did win that lot it would of ended up costing us about 80 cents per game. (plus Joe's shipping costs) Sometimes the best moves are the ones you don't make!
