Well Ive seen best of lists and worst of lists and I also heard many people talk about games they have thought were ungodly difficult to complete, my question is what are the games you thought were super easy? This may not have made the game bad or good but something that when you played it you thought you were in the zone or something til you realized everyone else was just as good. Look forward to seeing your answers.

Guerilla War (NES)- Not very difficult with unlimited continues that let you keep going right at the spot you left of at. I would've been pretty upset in the day if I had bought this and finished it in a half-hour.

Many of the big Nintendo first-party franchises have easy titles (Metroid and Zelda come to mind; and the Mario titles aren't too tough either).

Pretty much every jRPG I've played has been a breeze.

Not the easier game ever by any stretch of the imagination, but playing Bionic Commando last weekend made me realize how easy this game has become for me. When I first bought it back in the days, I couldn't imagine ever beating it. Then I did. Now, even though I only play the game every other year, it's really a breeze. (As a kid, the game felt sooo much longer too.)

Psychic Detective for the PSX. My cousin rented this and we figured it'd at least kill a weekend ... but noooo it lasted roughly an hour and a half.

Aladdin on SNES. First time I played it, I beat it without dying. Plus the game wasn't nearly as good as I was hoping it'd be (the Genesis version, on the otherhand, was the bee's knees)

Legendary Wings on NES. Easiest shmup to single life clear, and just about ANYONE can single credit clear on either their first or second playthrough.

Rhapsody on PS1. Ok, so the game was made for preteen girls, that would have been good information to get before I bought the damn thing (this was back when it was originally released and the game really wasn't known well enough to attract the negative attention it deserved). The game was obscenely easy, so really it's like playing a really bad direct to video kid's musical cartoon with super attractive graphics and annoyingly simplistic and dull "strategy" battles. If you die while playing this, I think it's about time to turn in that gamer card.

Parasite Eve for PS1. It wasn't terribly easy, but I did manage to beat it without dying on my first run through (no walkthrough). I may have gotten lucky though, because on my second run through I died once.

Haven't played it yet, but I've heard Mickey's Ultimate Challenge can be completed in less than 20 minutes.

Batman Beyond on N64 can also be beaten in less than an hour. After that It's highly likely you'll never play it again.

Bugs Bunny's Crazy Castle on the NES. I remember it being quite easy.

Jesus post whore! I could of sworn you were at 450 ish at 5:00 pm today. LOL

Anyways, the original bomberman for NES was too easy. The only way you'd ever die is if you happened get hit by your own flames.

Honorable mention goes to SMB 3 for averaging approximately 3.17 1up's on every friggin board.

Hello, first post for me :-P

I'd go for D&D : Heroes of the Lance on the NES, which took me like 15 minutes to beat on my first try when I was only 8-10 years old.

The final (well, only) boss only takes one hit, then the game is over (no animation, no anything). I think when I knew the exact path to take, it was a 5 minutes to beat game. Can't get much easier than that...

Yoshi's Story stands out in my mind as being really, really easy.

Trouble Shooter/heck any body can beat that shooter.

Bonk Adventure
Ninja Spirit/yeah that pit is lame but once you find the right spot it's easy.
Ys III/short and simple.

You can't beat Barney's Hide & Seek Game on the Genesis. Not only can't you die, but if you get confused, you can put the controller down and the game will play itself for you!

Nez

NeoGeo
RealBout Fatal Fury Special/easyest fighter on the system.

RBFFS is very easy compared to all the others, FF games are usually really hard but the ai isn't to smart on this one.

Halo from what I remember normal was a freaking breeze.

Wario World Very easy with only 2 puzzles that gave me a hard time.

Beyond Good and Evil.

Jumpman Jr.
12-21-2005, 08:51 AM
Rampage on the NES was pretty easy. You have unlimited conitinues and the game stays at the same difficulty as you progress through the game.

Lothars
12-21-2005, 09:16 AM
The one game that comes to mind that was way to easy is Final Fantasy Mystic Quest

otherwise I though Aladdin for the Snes I found very easy as well

Cryomancer
12-21-2005, 09:19 AM
The Great Waldo Search for genesis. not even a 5 minute game.

Hounder
12-21-2005, 09:20 AM
The two games that came to my mind have already been mentioned:

Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle for NES
TMNT: Fall of the Foot Clan - this game was so easy I wish I could go back in time and avoid playing it.

Felix the Cat on NES
Cool game for 8 bit, easy as heck.

Lord Contaminous
12-21-2005, 01:44 PM
I've beaten EVERY SINGLE Walt Disney licensed game made by Capcom on both NES and SNES. Maybe the difficulty blends in with the so called kid friendly image, but they're still great games.

Exile (Genesis) -That action RPG is so short I can actually 1cc it.

AMG

Animal Crossing, talk about easy.

12-21-2005, 02:20 PM
Felix the Cat for NES. Beat that game the first time I played it and I dont think I used 1 contunie.

Vigilante
12-21-2005, 02:55 PM
Pitfall 2 for the Atari 2600. I got it as an Easter present, purchased on Friday night, beaten by Saterday morning.

Super Ghouls & Ghosts (SNES)- naah, just kidding. ;)

Agreed.

Console-style RPGs like Final Fantasy and Pokemon are so easy that they're an insult to the intelligence of dim-witted individuals.

12-21-2005, 10:05 PM
Ecco Jr. (Mega Drive) - Beaten in less than an hour. I tend to refer to it "Playskool's: My First Ecco". LOL

Super Mario Bros. (NES) - Okay, perhaps not an easy game to begin with, but I've played it so much that it has become a walk in the park. I can finish it (no warps) in 45 minutes.

Mario Kart 64 (N64) - Can be beaten in one sitting.

Someone already mentioned Guerilla War NES, I just decided to walk around killing enemies for score that way I could stretch the playtime out longer. But hey it's not as short as the arcade Guerilla War.

Parappa 2. Beat it in one sitting without having to continue once. Too easy.

Just what I was going to suggest. I hadn't played the first but after Um Jammer Lammy I was expecting something of similar difficulty.

Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers for the NES. Even as a kid I was able to beat this, and I was (and still am) not very good at video games :)

I'll add the Spectrum version of Bruce Lee. I think everyone I know who has played this has beaten it. It was more a case of 'how many times can you beat this game before you get bored'

Mr.Faxanadu

Strhal for the 3DO.... if you can count that as a game. All you had to do was press the controller left, right, up or down when prompted to do so.

I have a friend who frequently says that, if you have only one quarter to spend, the Leprechaun coin-op is the way to go. Apparently, you can play for hours without the slightest risk of dying.

giga wing 2.. I beat that in like 15 or 20 minutes

But how many continues did you use? A 1CC for GigaWing 2, or any Takumi shmup for that matter, is quite an accomplishment.

Barring arcade games like Altered Beast or Golden Axe that allow for unlimited continues, I would have to add ActRaiser to this list. Yes, some of the side-scrolling scenes can be on the harder side, but it is pretty easy on a whole; especially the town building parts. Despite its simplicity, Actraiser remains one of my favorite games of all time.

Though I find it to be an incredible experience every time, Rez is one of the easiest games ever made. Once moving the reticule becomes second nature, the rhythm takes over. I never use the Overdrive (bomb) unless I am going for 100% kills.

I also feel that Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Harmony of Dissonance, Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow are all easy to very easy, especially if you find the best weapon in each. The Crissaegrim in SOTN is totally degenerate, as is the combination of the Throwing Sickle, Skelerang and Axe Armor souls in Dawn of Sorrow. Walls of Projectile Death. :rockets: :rocker:

Rondo of Blood isn't too difficult either.

On the other side of the coin, KCEK's Circle of the Moon is pretty tough, especially in the Colosseum, unless you grind incessantly. All of the NES Castlevania games, aside from maybe Simon's Quest once you figure out the illogical puzzles, are hard as nails, especially Castlevania III. Still haven't gotten past my frustration and beaten that one yet after all these years. Maybe that's because it decided to suddenly freeze from a bad connection the last time I got anywhere near the end.

Finally, I have always felt that Blazing Lazers/GunHed on the Duo is one of the easiest, if not the absolute easiest, shmups ever. Forget 1CC, 1 Life Clears are possible for most with a modicum of practice and the combination of the Ring Blaster and Homing Missiles (or shield). The only tough part in the game is the bubble stage if you are not powered up.

The Sega CD version of Lords of Thunder is also pretty easy to 1CC, unlike its superior Duo cousin.

Finally, I have always felt that Ridge Racer is incredibly easy once you get through the learning curve. All of them have been, except for the Master Modes on the PSP. They are frustrating as hell.

The original Pitfall.

I don't think I've ever 'died' playing that game. Usually, I always run out of time.

I always thought the Sonic the Hedgehog (the real sonic games on the Genny - not all the bastardized pinball and racing games) games were pretty easy, too.

izret101
12-22-2005, 02:22 PM
I agree with Goof Troop. SNES
I beat it in just over an hour that includes time i got up to use the bathroom grab a soda, finish said soda, eat a muffin, talk on the phone and move a wheelbarrow of dirt.

Rampage World Tour and Rampage Universal Tour both easy - PS and N64, repectively

Vigilante and Vigilante 2nd offense both easy - PS and N64

Pokemon: Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Stadium, Stadium 2, Trading Card Game, Snap(beat it in 45 mins and returned it to the store in disgust) think that covers all the ones i have played and beat.

Mario Is Missing SNES is easier than NES version. Buttons are laid out easier to use lol

Bangai-O - DC
Mortal Kombat Special Forces - PS
Dr. Mario 64
Bubble Bobble '99 - N64
Space Invaders - N64
Bio FREAKS - N64

Mortal Kombat*, MK2, MK3, UMK3 - Genesis, SNES, Gameboy* MKGold - DC MK: DA - GBA

Chu Chu Rocket & Chu Chu Rocket Advance - DC and GBA
Space Channel 5 - DC

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 - DC

Thats a good list from me for now ;)

Duck Tales (and sequel)
Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers (and sequel)
Darkwing Duck
Wacky Races
Kung Fu
Gueriila War
Aladdin
Mickey and Minnie's Circus Adventure

all rather fun games but really really easy.

Duck Tales of the NES was a breeze, but was a blast to play.

I think the key word here is "was". I loaded up this game the other day and I died several times within the first few minutes. I just think everything was easier in the good old days. ;)

My vote for easiest game is Castlevania: SOTN.

crazyjackcsa
12-22-2005, 04:28 PM
Sonic 3 was easy. Sonic 2 was hard due to the length of the game but Sonic 3 was far too easy. I actually found re4 too easy on normal, it was better on hard.

Every Capcom Disney game for NES and SNES, but I guess that's cause they were aimed at younger audiences. Still fun games though.

NES

Jaws was really easy

All the Disney games

Gunsmoke, Jackal don't remember too many problems with those

Club Drive on the Jaguar is super easy. And I don't care. :) I just love driving that little car around! (Runs to the living room and powers up the Jag).

My vote for easiest game is Castlevania: SOTN.

Good call.

A great game, but one of its main flaws is the ease at which one can cruise through 95% of the battles.

its_hey_ma

My vote = Mega Man X for snes
I can beat the game and get everything 'secret' in under an hour. Still a blast to play though

Rampage for the sega master system, finished it in one man. 8-)

I'd have to go with Super Dodgeball for the NES. I'm not even close to being a video game maestro by any means, but even I could go through this game without getting hit by the other team. Here's how each match went for me:

Run as far left as possible. Run to the right, throw super shot at other team, usually a direct hit. Catch their volley; repeat step one. Do this over and over again. Viola. Match over.

Doesn't stop me from loving that game any less, though. Still a fun one to just pick up and play.

D hands down. Passed it within 2.5 hours. I was so dissapointed I returned it claiming it was defective and picked up Discworld instead. Way better choice.

Basing this choice off of a game I played only once.

Felix the Cat for NES.

And most Disney Capcom games for NES, except for Darkwing Duck and TaleSpin. Not that those are hard, but not that easy either.

The most easy game,s for me are teh snow brothers, turtles in time. Even if I play turtles in time on hard mode it takes 25 minutes to finisch the game. The two player mode is what i,m talking about. But nevertheless it,s a hell of a great game i can play it over and over. Mostly all brawl games are not to hard except for the final boss. Like in final fight 1 the game is quite easey but the final boss is a pain.

Kid Ice

Spider Fighter for VCS. Pretty hard to die when they keep handing you all those extra lives.

VCS Laser Blast is a real easy one too.

Hokkus
12-24-2005, 08:37 PM
Sakura Taisen for Saturn. The only fight I had some problems with was the final boss battle, since I lost two of the girls just in the beginning of the fight, because of some stupid mistake. Still I could beat it on first try. A great game, but strategy part is way too easy.

Ariel the Little Mermaid for Master System wasn't too difficult either.

Are you talking single credit clearing the games or are you talking credit feeding? Because I've always found Final Fight to be a bitch, but maybe it's just me (in a similar vein, I found Gigawing 2 to be relatively easy compared to most other shmups and it didn't take me too long to 1CC it)

Same. Those games in theory shouldn't be blisteringly tough, but in practice it's different...

Mad City the Japanese version of the Adventures of Bayou Billy, I finished the game in 1 credit, but barely survived the last fight with 2 health boxes left, still though I hadn't touched the game (Bayou Billy) in many years and still beat it. O_O

I think the U.S. version was made a tad harder, as the second road stage looks much better than the U.S. version (Japan has highways, U.S. had a dirt road as the second road stage).

I'm going with Mario Kart 64. Over time you get so good at it you don't even have to try on 150cc with any cup to win 1st place.
