It's been a LONG time since the last offical NAVA meeting, there hasn't been a good spot to host this since Mike closed the store in Howell.

That's about to change. NAVA is merging with the "NJ Classic" that has been hosted at my house for the last few years and will take place in the Digital Press Videogames store in Clifton, NJ. With Mike's blessing, NAVA has been resurrected, and we'll get right back to the monthly get-togethers just like the old days.

These meetings are a great place for collectors and gamers to get together and trade wares, stories, show-and-tell, and recent finds. The store will be kept open until the last person leaves, so you can come early or you can come late and get in on the action.

The DP store is similar in many ways to Mike's place. Lots of classic and current stuff, rarities, game systems to play and coin-ops set on free play. I've got two Neo-Geo 2-slot cabs, Marvel Superheroes and the gun game Operation Thunderbolt at the moment, so there will be no shortage of gaming goodness.

The highlight for many is the TRADING, so bring your gaming goodies!

Here is a link to the Mapquest listing for the store. Use the "Directions To" link in the upper left to plot your route.

Hope to see you all there! Please direct any questions about this and future events to me at digitalpress@email.com or via phone at the store number 973-772-1111

I'm looking forward to it. Had a chance to check out the store and it was much bigger than I expected. It was as nice as i'd expected. I need that Saturn banner in the back. WHen I die i'm want to be wrapped in it in the same way Bela Lugosi wore his cape at his funeral. Long live Saturn!

A) I wish I could go, but I'll be in N.O. at the time.

B) I don't know if I'll make it to the shop before then, but if so, I'll drop off some of my mostly-every-year year-end Mix CDs (the 2005 edition), for Joe to give out to any of you that make it. First come, first served, when they're gone, they're gone.

C) If anyone has a Saturn Marvel Super Heroes, my son fell in love with the coin-op at Joe's store, and I'm looking for one. While I won't be at the meet, the talk of Saturn trades reminded me of this. Let me know what kind of deal you're looking for and maybe we can work something out.

I'm planning to attend on Saturday, probably arriving around noon. It's going to be interesting to start this thing a bit earlier than normal.

Not yet sure what I'm bringing yet. I've got a boxed 5200, and a boxed NES ROB set (missing ROB himself but it does have the NES and all packaging) that I was thinking about. If anyone is interested PM me, otherwise I may end up leaving one or both home. I've also got plenty of CV, INTV, and 2600 stuff that I'd love to get rid of.

I'm looking for TG-16, a Neo Geo MVS board (1 or 2 slot) and carts, or cash.

Things I really really need:

- NES systems, blinking ones are fine
- SNES systems
- uncommon Dreamcast games
- loose Genesis games

Load up your trade boxes! I've got a whole store full of trade bait and have put aside extra cash for the day.

See ya in Clifton!

i WAS at the NAVA meeting today. THere was a healthy amount of folks there. I wish i could have stayed longer but I have a film to shoot tomorrow. There's been talk of this becoming a monthly thing, i'm all for it. I'll def. be there next month if it happens.

There were quite a few things i want to buy at that store. I need to stop being so fucking poor!

I'll drive to the next one so you and Chris can act like crazy men.

I had a great time...I think I overdid it a bit with the obnoxiousness during the Tekken 5 "tournament".

Enjoyed seeing everyone there.

@Joe please hold on to my guitar. I didn't mean to leave that!

I had a good time as always, made some cash, and even cleaned out the trade box a bit. On top of that I managed to stay strong and hold off the temptation to turnaround the cash and spend it on other things. I intended to save it for a flight stick but it now looks like I may be working out a deal with portnoyd for one. If that is the case then I’ll likely spend my profits on something else in the near future. The early start to the gathering is nice as it allows more time in the late afternoon/evening to get things done at home after the meeting. I left about 4:15 after hanging out for 4 hours, and still had plenty of time to do dinner with friends without rushing. At times the store was packed and it was difficult to differentiate board members from customers, but that made it all the more interesting.

I’m continually impressed with the dedication/insanity of Sniderman. A 16+ hour cannonball run style drive just to hangout for a few hours and buy some games. To anybody who says they live too far away to come down to the shop, this is living proof that it can be done.

And Jeff thanks again for the 800, I'll let you know if I have any luck.

I had a great time seeing those I've already met, and meeting new people. I managed to spend more than I sold, but eh?

I took some pictures - more than Chandler, but the camera is still in the truck. My foot was swollen like a pineapple by the time I got home last night, so I left it all in the truck.

I also managed to lose a MarioKart DS loose, so if anyone finds/found it, it's mine! ;-( It was in my pocket all night, and it wasn't there when I got home.

And, I think I surprised some by having all the PCs ready for the gaming LAN. I got four of the computers set up - one more trip to the store, and it will be ready to rock and roll!

My brother and I had a great time at our first meeting and we will try to bring a trade box to the next meeting. I have got so many magazines and books on top of the games. But the big question is do I actually want to part with anything?
