I wish that I was able to get all of the games I wanted. Too much money and time for me.
I stopped buying brand-new games years ago. $40-50 a pop is too much for me, & I dont have the time to play many games as it is.
I still have several games across my systems I havent even started, much less spent any time getting into them. I have a half-dozen PS2 games still sealed that I mean to start, but w/ Xmas coming & a half-dozen more games I asked for, they'll have to wait even longer.

I really only get the games I want. I buy a really small amount of $50 games. Most recently Call of Duty 2 in Late October.

Haha - too true, too true! Except I don't play Guitar Hero. But yeah. Buy 'em and carry on playing the game you're loving at the moment.

Sure, I keep up...I look and say, "Oh look, new games..." and then move on. There's no law that says you have to have every game in creation that comes out. I learned that a long time ago and I'm much happier. I haven't bought a new full-priced game in months. I'm not sure when I will again, either. Maybe when the baseball games come out...

Buy but not play. Thankfully it's slow for the next couple of weeks. Trust me i know the upcoming releases and there's not much.

It's actually pretty funny because I can look at any used game shelf and find something new. Today I found Battletech (Gen), which I had never heard of so I picked it up for a dollar. If I don't like it, or if I don't like it's collection value I'll just resell it for higher.

I try to keep up - I've been picking up games like Mario Kart DS, Animal Crossing etc but it's just finding the times to play them all properly that's the problem. :( Wish I had the time to get stuck into RPGs again too.

I can't even keep up w/the games I want to get that are coming out, so there's no way I'm able to keep up with everything.

No way do I keep up with everything that comes out. The latest game I bought was Halo 2, and I just bought that a few months ago. I hardly have any new games because I don't have the money nor the time to be buying and playing them.
Maybe that will change when I get my GBA.

Amen, brother. LOL My backlog has been getting bigger and bigger since I picked this one up. Shadow of the Colossus has just been sitting on the shelf, staring at me. I want to dig into it, but I can't bring myself to unplug the guitar.
As far as buying games go, I never really keep too up-to-date. Very few games I buy on release date unless I have to have them. There are quite a few recent titles, though, that I wanted to grab but can't yet budget. Ah, well. Once the holidays are through.

The gamie industry is getting way too big to keep up with everything.
There just isn't enough time to play everything worth playing.
I play the 5-10 must-haves for each system, and whatever good games I'm interested in and can find for $20 or less.

I prefer to not keep up with the game industry anymore. While it means being out of the loop for what new games are supposed to be good; I find I enjoy going to the game store now more because I can still be excited by something on the shelf...although that hasn't happened for a while now :\

"You're kidding right?"
I have a hard enough time somewhat keeping up on my backlog of games as it is. I basically keep most of my newer purchases to deals I can find (like the TRU deal right now, sa sa shweeet) and the occasional 'buy at launch date price' game.

It was so much easier to keep up with games years ago, but now, it is quite difficult. I have tried many times, but now I just play what I like, do research on the games that sound appealing, and make my purchases on that merit.
I still tend to do more research on Nintendo games more than the other systems however. Not because I'm a "fanboy", but because I have followed the good games Nintendo had to offer for so many years. After playing quite a few new titles on various systems, this still seems to hold some truth even today...at least for me. Nintendo games just seem to have that "fun value" I require when making a purchase I guess.
