First post so I'll try and make it a good one. I recently bought a playstation kiosk but it doesn't have a monitor. I was wondering if anyone knew the make and model of monitor that originally went in it. The kiosk is about 7' tall and has a marquee with raised playstation lettering on the top, as well as a marguee on the side that advertises spyro, twisted metal III, nfl gameday, and Crash Bandicoot. Both marquees light up. The manufacture date of the kiosk is August 1995. If anyone needs/wants pictures I can take some. Thanks for your help.

I added a pic of the back bracket. The bracket is about 8 inches from the front. The diagonal dimension is 29" so I guess it's for a 21" or 23" tv? I also added pics of the gamecube display because it's so cool :)

I know of a few people with them but dont have the info off hand. I'd bet ya a buck that it was a Sony monitor though.

I'll ask those I know with one and get back to you.

The monitor hole looks to be a 21" or so. We have PS2 kiosks with Samsung lcd monitors so I just wanted to make sure it was a sony.

Don't mind the hunk of junk car in the backround. Despite the kiosk being in my garage and the dustiness, the kiosk is brand new.I unpacked it myself off the original shipping skid. It was in storage since 1995 (because of the broken monitor) at the company I work for. I also got a gamecube kiosk (complete with cube, monitor and demo disc) with the playstation one.

I haven't decided yet what I'm going to do with either. I just got them yesterday after 4 months of negotiations with upper management, so I'm not going to sell them right away. I don't really even know what they are worth. I just know I liked them :) They look great in a game room. Now if only I could get the PS1 kiosk in my house...

That is a nice PSX kiosk... Not what I was expecting it to look like. Good luck with your monitor search :)

1973 Camaro. i started restoring it in high school but college and life got in the way. So there it has sat for many a year. I've tried selling it for parts but no takers. It will be finished eventually, very, very eventually.

What are the dimensions of the opening and how far is the back support bracket from the front of the frame? I have a different PS kiosk that uses a 13" TV; I'm using a JVC. From the looks of the one you've got it could be made for anything from 13"-20".

I believe most gamecube displays look similar. Kind of like this:

Mine though is a launch kiosk with waverace, rougue squadron, and luigi's mansion graphics near the controllers that go with the Oct. 2001 demo disc. Also mine glows red to match the GC power light, and no bongos :)

I'll have to take some measurements tomorrow. Off the top of my head the back support is fairly close to the front of the frame. Maybe 6 inches. At first I thought an lcd was supposed to be there, but the overhang off the back would fit a tube set. I'll take a picture of what I'm talking about tomorrow. The opening looks large though. I'm thinking its for a 23" but I'll check.

I prefer the one with out the bongo's has a nicer look to it in my opinion.

I've been trying to get my hands on one for ages.

I can't believe this post is a year and a half old. I found it while going through some of my old posts. I still don't know the exact monitor that went into the playstation 1 display, so this will be my yearly bump I guess. I would have figured someone on these boards has one and knows what monitor went with it.

You still don't have a monitor after a year? Wow.
