Whether from mail order or visiting the country instead of buying imports from American/European based stores?
I did only mail order:
Akumajou Densetsu (Famicom)
Super Famicom system w/Rockman 7
Akumajo Dracula XX (Super Famicom)

^ Well duh...
I'd say at least 70 - 75% of my imports came from sellers/stores in Japan and HK.

I'm gonna guess around the same percentage. All of the import games I've ever purchased besides maybe 10 or 15 SFC games have been boughten from Japanese eBay sellers and middleman.
All of them.
And then some of them got sold to me. LOL

90% or more of mine. Most of my very first 8bit famicom and mega-drive games were actually purchased in japan during vacations with my mom.

Just the ones I bought from www.japangamestock.com (10 SFC games) and my Namie Amuro Sweet 19 Blues CD which I bought off of ebay from a seller in Japan. All my other import games and items came from U.S. sellers (Mostly from NCSX, Wolfgames, and The West Exit).

Bought all mine in Japan, 'cept one JP Saturn game. Whoops, I buy a fair amount of PS2 and DS stuff in Singapore, but that's not much of an import for me.
So, i'd say I pretty much always buy locally (the region the game is designed for), but 'locally' changes alot. :)

Most of my imports have been though Japanese sellers on eBay, but I do have one from a friend who lived there for a year and returns occasionally. He got me a copy of Yu Yu Hakusho Makyou Toitsusen!

All my 80's handhelds.. And a sampling for each console game throughout the past 20 years or so. Basically i used to travel there at least once a year and each time, I'd buy videogames. So if there's a jap game in my collection.. it was from Japan.

probably almost 80% of my games are from Japan, with at least another 80% of them bought directly in Japan.

Only 1 of mine came from an asian country, and that was HK. The rest all came from either a domestic import site, or DP's buying and selling. Which is both funny and sad as I have over 50 Japanese imports (wish I could read them all though).

The only games I've bought from Japan are two Saturn imports. Metal Slug and Prikura Daisakusen. Both great games.

I've bought Japanese games from wherever I could find them. My first x68000 game, Akumajo Dracula, came from Spain (with a dead spider too!) and cost me $233...long before I knew that NFG would eventually be selling one for $70.
I've gotten some games from England, some from Australia, and a few from the States (16-bit and JapanGamesNow are two examples).
I've gotten a good number from Hong Kong, and I commented last night in IRC that it's strange how GBA games from HK are very suspect (i.e. sealed copies of Harmony of Dissonance for $12 or whatever on eBay), but I've never had a problem buying older titles from Hong Kong. It stands to reason that a well-off island close to Japan would have a sizable used games business.
