One of my friends bought her son a PSP for Christmas off of eBay. Well, she got ripped pretty bad as the PSP turned out to be an import and the user who sold it to her is no longer a registered user.

So, she bought her son a bunch of games and movies for the PSP. The games don't seem to have a regional lockout, as they play. Do any PSP games have a regional lockout?

However, none of the UMD movies will play whatsoever.

Is there a hack/fix for this?

As of now, no PSP games have any sort of region lockout. I doubt that will change in the future, thankfully.

However, you're screwed for movies and music UMDs. I don't think I've seen any hacks to get around this so far. And I think the white PSPs are firmware 2.50 or something, so you wouldn't be able to install said hacks anyway, if they do exist.

It is a white one, but I heard that a firmware downgrader exists.

That is correct. However, it will not work if the firmware is higher than 2.00, so check that out. And also, I don't think anybody has worked around movie region coding, despite all the other lovely little hacks.

Tell her I'll trade her my black one + cash for her white one. :)
