Character actor Vincent Schiavelli died today. (http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=22086)

You're probably thinking "Who?", but I guarantee that you know 'im. He's been in - well - everything. Fast Times at Ridgemont High. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Batman Returns. Buckaroo Banzai. The list is HUGE.

My guess is that most people remember him as "The Subway Ghost" from the movie "Ghost." ("Get off my train!!!!") With his odd-sleepy-eye look to his huge forehead, he was one of those actors where you go "Oh, THAT guy!"

Anyway, I know Vincent from one of my favorite videogames - Corpse Killer for the Sega CD (though you may have played it on the 3DO or Saturn). He played the evil Dr. Hellman - the madman causing the rising zombie horde. Sure, it was a chessy bit part in a cheesy videogame, but dammit, I *love* Corpse Killer and it saddens me that one of my favorite VG villains has died in real life too.

RIP - Dr Hellman, you evil, evil genius.

Oh, bloody...that guy was awesome. Liked him in his role for Tomorrow Never Dies, from '97. On a side note, it seems like yesterday that I saw that...

Gonna miss him, he was one of the coolest character actors around :(

He also played Jenny Calendar's extremely unpleasant uncle during Buffy's second season.

Damn he was young...only 57...

He played in this one awesome episode of "Tales from the Crypt" which is one of my personal favorites.

Yet he was awesome in "Ghost" I'd say...felt bad for the guy.

That was only on TV here a couple of days ago... and yes, he was one of those people you just couldn't mistake for anyone else. And although he had a lot of smallish roles, they were always notable in my book!

"Have a heart kids, I just switched to Sanka"

He did voiceover work for a few other games as well, though I can't recall any specific titles offhand.
