"One million dollars!"

That's how much Microsoft will lose after they hack it.

Now, fans have dug out a lot more from it.

* You can replace the *.wmv files in the discs with your own ones, they will still play!! E.g. change the '/videos/pgr3.wmv' with some other HD wmv file, and you will be able to play it!
* XEX and EXE files are still signed. Only data files are unsigned.
* You won’t be able to use this disc for booting retail version of the games by simply placing files into designated folders.
* The disc is fully playable.
* Add/remove files on the disc doesn’t prevent from using other functions, which mean no integrity check for this disc.
* The ISO is a standard one which you can browse with those ISO tools. You can also put this DVD into your DVD drive on PC to browse.
* Live Arcade games are actually Flash games. You can run them within your browser on PC. unfortunately, replacing these games with home made ones only lead to a crash of the Xbox 360.
* Game demos won’t run if the system language is set to German (or maybe other languages as well).
* You can find more pictures and videos by browsing the disc on a PC than in the Xbox 360 dashboard.

Well I'll go with the assumption that you are being sarcastic....

The 360 is stil a LONG way from being hacked.

It will still be a long time before we see any emulators or anything useful. This is just a Demo CD that one can copy onto a CD-R and still be able to play. Unless playing demos, most of which are freely available for download on Live, floats your boat. Could it provide some workarounds for actual games? Possibly. Even then, its not likely to be worth the effort.

Well, looks like there's some good progress going on. I hope they hack the 360 soon. However, only to run CD's no HDDVD games.

What's this about a million dollars and the pic of what's-his-name? Huh? Wha?

ANyway, it's just a matter of time before it's hacked. It WILL happen. With as many people who probably work around the clock on doing it, it's bound to happen. If a loophole like this was found this fast, more will be found.

I will not release enough XBOX 360's to cover consumer demand unless you pay me "One million dollars!"

OF COURSE I'm an Austin Powers fan! LOL :)

I get it now...If I heard CMTZ's real voice instead of read the text, I would have got it immediately. :-) Stupid interweb.

"One million dollars!"

You might wanna ask for a bit more than that, a million dollars isnt as much as it used to be.

"Bill, lets put a ransom on the 360 for a million dollars!"

"For pocket change?"

Ok, riddle me this....

Why would somebody play a retail version of PGR3, and then swap that disk with a copied version of PGR3? You still need the retail disk, so I don't see a point in it.

Also, why would these dumbasses show this over the internet? you know that MS is going to track those fools down

I think it is just to show that it can be done and that some progress, even a little, is being made. Anyone that used that as a piracy method is a retard of course.

If you look close at the video the disk that is suppose to be swapped isnt a PGR3 disc, it says something else. I doubt MS is going to find out who they are as its been posted in numberous xbox scene channels that are anon.

But the disk that was in the 360 to start with was a PGR3 retail disk right? And then the guy swaps that off real fast and puts on some Phillips disk. I'm assuming a Phillips DVD-R or DVD+R or something.

Then the game is still Project Gotham 3. Hmm, maybe I wasn't looking at it right, but that's what I thought I saw.

The video proves that the Xbox 360 can read and play games from burned media. That's why it's "important".

I agree completly on that one. I guess its a pretty good start on accessing the system.

Sweet! Now maybe the system can be hacked and we can have cheaters and modders again when Halo 3 comes out :D [sarcasm]
