Well, Christmas is over, and somewhere li'l Billy's parents bought him a damn Vsmile.
Which begs the question:
Does anybody really believe this underpowered piece of crap is teaching him anything except that the P&M were too damn unhip to get him the latest XPlayGameBoxStationCubeRevolution360?
And:
Wouldn't a book be cheaper and even more educational?
Look, somewhere out there Li'l Billy has been dreaming of getting his hands on the latest version of the XPlayGameBoxStationCubeRevolution360, maybe hoping it'll come with the new Grand Theft Auto: Redneck game he's been wanting so he can run over gap-toothed yokels and pimp slap methed-out skank whores - and what do hiks parents get him?
A damn Vfrog LeapSmile. And it's educational.
I figure Li'l Billy kills 'em in their sleep.
Help stop Li'l billy from killing his parents:
Somebody do a mindlessly violent homebrew for this abomination now.

Holy Christ, grow up.. or go back to GameFAQs. Either will do fine.
V-Smile is for under 5 kids who aren't going to have the dexterity to handle the 20 button controllers of today and YES it is educational.. kids that young excel at learning though interactivity such as this.

Yes they do actually learn. I saw my nephews playing some theirs, plus I think they're better off learning about colors and letters instead of guns and sex. Well at least until they're 10 :D

Hell, I stop by our demo unit at work all the time. That's either a sad statement on my work ability or public education...

No, no, really...I think kirin jensen has a great point, and this is something I have often thought of recently too. Please note the sarcasm in the first post...he isn't seriously saying Billy is killing his parents over this, lol. Somewhere, some kid is seriously pissed, and this kid is seriously depressed about his Christmas because his parents were just too fucking dumb and cheap to get the kid what he wanted. Remember when you were a kid and wanted GI Joes? And then you got GI Jack from the Dollar Tree, or worse, socks?
"Alfred, Billy wants an Xbox 360, but I want to shelter him and make him my little 5-year old forever (and home school him). Those Bandicoot games are just too violent. I think we should get him a VSmile, because we're cheap selfish bastards and we don't want Billy doing drugs and man-whoring himself. AND IT'S EDUCATIONAL!!! And I'll rip off your fucking balls if you say no, you beaten-down piece of shit."
[monotone and soulless]"Yes dear."[\monotone and soulless]
Maybe sometimes parents good (evil) intentions do get them killed.

The only thing I can say about the Vsmile is this. I know at one point they made the claim they were the first educational video game console. At which point I laughed and said "Um no that title belongs to a machine made 10yrs ago called the Sega Pico."

It bombed horribly, and I wished I'd snatched one up in 97 when they were on clearance.

I always thought we needed a forum version of Katamari from the IRC servers.

I think it's a good idea, as long as your kid isn't old enough to know it's lame in comparison to real consoles. Maybe something a 3-5 year old might dig? Can't imagine a 10 year old being too happy with one, unless he gets a PS2 as well, or something of the like.

Heh, thanks dude. LOL
I just really had to get that out. I'm sure every soccer mom who wears the pants in her family at least *thought* about buying her son a VSmile, cuz you know damn well they asked for a 360. The bit had to be said and it was. Amen.
My favorite thread of the week.
