Gamestop's games all have stickers on them, and I was just wondering the best way to take them off. I try to peel them off, but a lot of the sticker stays on. It is not sticky, but just looks bad. Does Goo Be Gone work? I have read that it works on sticker residue, but this isn't really residue per se, but a sticker that didn't tear off completely. Any help would be much appreciated.

Yeah, I saw that. When I read residue I think the sticky stuff that stickers leave behind. I am talking about the stickers themselves that stay behind.

let it soak, and it will take those off

or, scrape it off a little more with your finger nail....i dont have one sticker left on any of my preowned games and none of the cases were destroyed or even marked by the old fingernail then goo gone treatment...

I always use Denatured Alcohol. Just don't use it on the labels cause it will sometimes take them off too. It works great on the silver rental stickers that have the VOID under them when you pull them off. It will also take off most writing on the carts, including magic marker.

To remove stickers, I use a hair dryer. Just use it until the sticker is good and warm, and it should come right off. It may leave behind some glue residue that way, so you'll have to use something else to get that off. But for just getting the sticker off (especially without ripping boxes) I've found it's the best way.

I always use gentle heat to remove a label; then Orange Waterless (a general "orange" cleaner sold at janitorial supplies) to take off the remaining label and gum residue. Works like a charm; and OW is relatively safe on most cart labels. It ESPECIALLY works well on that "silver goop" left behind by those VOID stickers the previous poster mentioned.

You ever have a game with those rezlly old square metal foil security stickers? It took me about an hour to take one off the back of my ninja gaiden cart.

I used rubbing alcohol, and goo gone. It still took about an hour of spraying, peeling, scraping, and rubbing.

Those Blockbuster rental stickers that have the metal foil under them can also be a bitch to get off. I have never understood why rental companies insist on putting there stickers on the labels of the games.....SO GAY.

Yeah, that's exactly what I do! As for residue, first cover-up any thing on the cartidge(?) that you do not want ruined. Next, use alcohol or thinner, and scrape off that pesky glue.

around me, EB stickers take forever to get off while the gamestop stickers are easy and involve no left on residue at all

I don't like to use goo gone because it leaves behind a residue of its own.

Kinda off topic, but does anyone know a good way to get plastic label-maker stickers off of paper?

A friend of mine was given an awsome collection of comic books that had been rendered worthless by the idiot who originally collected them.
The guy put a numbered label on the front of every single book, which is made all the more baffling by the fact that every comic had a bag and backing, either of which could have been labeled instead.
If we could remove the labels without ruining the covers, then it would be a rather valuable collection.
