Storing Spineless Carts?

I wanted to see how you deal with the problem of carts without writing on the spines (N64, GB, Pal SNES/SFC, NPGC to name a few).

I personally like the fanned out method:

Whenever I can't see the name of a cart by stacking it normally, I make a point to always buy the boxes for those games.

I use a label maker or print out my list and make sure they are in order.

All very good suggestions. As for the fanned-out method, pretty neet idea, unless you stack them vertically. The fanned out method also seems to take up a bit more space, but if you've got the room, why not?

I have a Dymo label printer that's handy as hell, but I don't think I would have the heart to put labels (even though they'd be on the top) on all my N64 carts, after I spent months surgically removing the huge front labels the video store put over the face of the carts on half of my N64 collection.

I still don't have a good way to display most of my portable games, though I may one day go the "baseball card albums/binders" route.

You know, taking a second look at your pic, I never noticed that SFC games don't have top labels, but SNES games have them lap over. Hmm. Oh, and you've got a Japanese SGB, nice.

Oh, really? I thought i saw the Japanese SFC logo on some of them, and Japanese writing on one or two.
The cart shapes looked JP too...

Well, for GB games, I bought a couple of D-Ring binders and some pages intended for baseball cards, and put the GB games in the slots. It works pretty well, as long as you don't flip the binder upside down. Its portable too. I usually squeeze 50 or so carts per binder without too much trouble. The only downside is if you like them alphabetical, it can be a pain. I usually go through and organize them once or twice a year, but otherwise, the new games just get put in the back pages.

See, this just isn't a problem for me; I just memorise the games!

As for markers, don't make the same mistake that I did. Sure, those N64 carts just BEG to be written-on, but permanent marker is a pain to remove, It decreases the value of the game, and the end result just looks plain sh*tty. I usually use the "fanning-out" method: thats probably the way to go :).
