I bought it for $5 like a month ago and couldn't find any info on it. I didn't have a digital cam to take pics so I got one for Christmas. Well anyways I was hoping someone here had some info on it. Thanks in advance!

Besides the Nintendo insignia on the back I would say its not offical.

I believe it's for the black Panasonic (or Sharp, I can't really remember wich) TV that had a built-in NES.

That makes a whole lot of sense, actually, with Game Television written on the controller....the color matches too.

Yes (NES-004), but the font seems different.

My first thought was that these go with black Sharp NES TVs, as well. Hoping to see confirmation of that.

That does look like a legitimate Nintendo manufactured controller for the Sharp NES-in-a-TV. The shapes of the controller and buttons look very close to the real thing. Also, another indicator of reliability is the lack of turbo buttons.

Its for the Sharp NES. Dangerboy and I found one at a EB games back in September and all the searching we did came back to the Sharp NES controller. Its a nice oddity to have for NES collecting.

Yup...it's for the Sharp TV....now you just have to find the TV that goes with the controller...

Id gladly pay $5 for it. My question: is the plug in the same for it. That is, could you plug it into a regular NES and go? I've never seen a Sharp NES so I don't know if they changed the design for the controller port.

Yes you can. I've played with it before. It works just like it was new. It's just really a bit dirty.

good luck finding a tv to match it! they sucked arse and sold in very little numbers, BUT for some reason the controllers pop up alot around here, my friend has one, and i've seen another one at the flea market, and my other friends got one too, casue his dad bought the tv back in 89 but it broke. it's an awesome looking controller, just wish the thing said sharp NES instead of the gay "game television"

5 bucks is a great deal for it. I have seen them sell on ebay for over 20 several times. They usually bring in around 10 or so though. From what I have seen the Sharp TV's were only sold at Sear's, and that is why there isn't a whole lot of them, I mean really who shops at Sears that much anyway? Nice find man.

That is the actual official Nintendo font. The official font has the cross in the "t" in nintendo aligned with the top of the "n" and "e" and Nintendo always has the letters close together with hardly any spacing.

I’d start by taking that thing apart and thoroughly cleaning it, was that thing buried in the back yard of the previous owner?

Man, hand funk on a controller is nasty, especially when it's not yours!

I'm talking about the text underneath the line (just the plain text there). That's why I put the comment in the same sentence as the model number listed.
