I was digging through my old Sega Saturn games today and 3D Baseball brought back memories of my parents having great difficulty finding it one year. I'm really not interested in parting with it. The guide says its an R6. Does anyone know what this is worth?

I saw that earlier, how accurate is the guide? I notice there are quite a few of people on eBay who price gouge the hell out of certain games. This was one of them as I've seen it there a few months back going for $30 complete. It's amazing how people overpay for something just cause every title has "Rare" in it.

This is one of the games that I still see all the time brand new at various independent game shops in the LA area. I have seem it for under $10 and even that seemed like too much to me. I suppose lots of places overordered it when it was released because it didn't have a year attached to the title so it was seen as something that could sell for a while.

I saw that earlier, how accurate is the guide? Completely and utterly inaccurate. Forget I said anything.

The guide is geared towards collectors, not the general public. People on eBay are generally willing to pay more for games because they have fewer resources and less patience when it comes to finding games. The Super Mario Bros trilogy for NES is a good example. They are extremely common so none of us would pay more than maybe $2 for any of the carts, but they go for more than that on eBay because they are popular, and because those people don't trip over those carts on a daily basis at thrift stores and flea markets like we do.

Basically I think that most of us try to sell our stuff to eachother because it is easier and keeps it "in the family" so to speak even though we will get slightly less money. eBay is a headache to deal with and not really worth the trouble unless you have a big ticket item and you want to maximize profits.

Does anybody remember the first pictures of 3D baseball that started showing up in the magazines? It looked like it was going to be the most revolutionary sports game ever, but it turned out that all the screen shots were renders and not real gameplay. For months and months, magazines were showing the same rendered screen shots and acting like that was the real game.

Man, I can remember when I first saw a 3D Baseball screenshot. It looked like the most amazing game ever. Way beyond it's time. But the actual game turned out to be a total dud.

^^ disagree with game being a dud. Next to the Godly WSB 98, I find 3DB to be the best 3D baseball title on Saturn. It's just flat out fun. And you can score from 2nd base on a single, if you get a good lead and it's a fast runner... I love that.

As for price, I'd say 10-15 is a good ballpark. I've seen sealed copies for BIN 30, but nobody bought those. I searched ebay for 3DB for like 2 years, and finally got it when someone finally put up an auction for it.

funny thing was, the manual had the original receipt... dude bought it from software etc. (remember that store!) for 59.99 plus tax... I got it for $2. pretty sad.

I never had it for the Saturn but I do have the PS1 version. I wondered about the title...it didn't seem very 3D to me. I figured it was supposed to be 3DO Baseball and they just lost the O...I liked the announcer, I thought he was the best part of the game. I wonder if the PS1 version is rare at all? I'll have to find where I stuck my DP Guide and check...maybe tomorrow.

Personally, wsb98 is nice but the graphics and gameplay of 3DB, were superior in my book, however, I still like the first and second WSB better than any other baseball title, out on the saturn, the gameplay and FUN level was off the charts with those two, the comentary, everything, not to mention, randomly rained out games, SWEEEET.... but thats my two cents.

I guess it depends on who you are. I paid around $30 IIRC on eBay and like Steve, it took me several years to get. It's not up there very often.

This is not common around here sadly.
