PSP Emulation question

PSP is one thing I have not picked up yet (too busy playing Metroid Pinball...so owny). I have seen a lot fo talk on here about emulation with it, and about which version works. Can someone set this out for me: Which versions work for emulation, and can you tell from the box or anything like that what versions a unit has?

And, along those lines..where do you get the emulators?

Newer firmware prevents emulation for emulating PSP games.
But that is illegal anyways buy new games i do not condone emulation for current software in anyway.

If you mean SNES NES Genesis etc there are emulators out there specifically designed for the PSP and i do not know if those are effected by the Firmware updates.

I don't own a PSP i just know alot of peopl who use thiers illegally.
