I wanted to post this in "Classic Discussions" but realized it was moderators only, so if they want to move this topic there, that would be fine with me.

There have been many great Bomberman games... but the best in my opinion is Saturn Bomberman due to the 8 and 10 player capability.

Super Bomberman on SNES gave me lots of good memories though, but is limited by a 4-player maximum limit.

I'd hafta say either the SNES version or Bomberman Online for the DC.

It was nice playing against other people who weren't sitting right next to you.

Saturn Bomberman is the easy winner. Check out the discussion here!

Saturn Bomberman hands down. Other versions have good things about them, but nothing compares to the sheer amount of people you can get in on a game of Saturn.

I'd agreen about Saturn Bomberman, but Bomberman '92 on the TurboGrafx wins for just being fun to play... and getting 4 other players on a multitap wasn't bad either.

Bomberman: Party Edition for the PS1; man, that game just keeps on giving :).

I've never had a shot at Saturn Bomberman, although I hear great things about it.

I like Bomberman 93 for the TG-16, also I find Mega Bomberman keen too, but aren't they the same game anyway?

Edit: Had a chance to play Bomberman Party PSX, it is quite groovy, although I didn't play too much of it yet.

on a side note, anyone know the code to make the CPU AI a "level 4"??? I remember seeing that code back in the day, but I can't relocate it now, and one dude in the link thread talked about how level 4 AI crushed him and six of his friends!

I really want to test out level 4....

thanks in advance.

And oh, maybe it was just me but Mega Bomberman (Genesis) was pretty cool!

The very first one on the NES... of course, I haven't played anything other than that or Bomberman 2. :)

I will vote for Saturn Bomberman too. Any chance of a definitive list of all the versions of Bomberman, and a poll? :)

I enjoyed the DC incarnation, but overall it is a 2D game at heart, and that is where it excels the most.

Honourable mention for Moonquake on the Archimedes computer, which was a very fun Bomberman clone, played on huge levels and with the ability to rack up the most obscene number of bombs in your arsenal with outrageous flame lengths.

Saturn Bomberman is an excellent game, #1 to me and many others.

I also like Bomberman Arcade for the Japanese 64, it has so many modes and is just awesome to play! It is also traditional style of play, not just the crappy 64 3-D graphics.

I've heard that Saturn Bomberman is numero uno, and from what I've seen, my guess is that's true.

The only Bomberman title that I own is Bomberman Online for the DC, which is fun, but tries my patience due to the game's excessive loading. I haven't tried the game online (I don't use dial-up, and don't have a broadband adaptor), but I like the fact that no expensive hardware is necessary to enjoy 4 player goodness when playing Bomberman on the DC.

I like the SNES version of Bomberman as well.

A former friend of mine had a copy of Bomberman for the PS1 that was rockin'. I actually prefer it to the DC version - only because its loading times are quicker. On the downside, it's a pain to have to purchase a 4-player adaptor to play the game the way it was meant to be played!

I havent played it in years but Bomberman 64 was awesome back in the day. Dont get the 2nd one though, coz there is no multiplayer mode...

This is a really hard question because there are so many Bomberman games out there that people can't have played all of them or even most of them. So people are probably going to go for the Saturn version for sheer number of players

I've only played a few different versions but Mega Bomberman is my fave of them, kangaroos!

No doubt in my mind - Bomberman 64.

The single player was actually good for a Bomberman game, but the step into 3D was the best for multiplayer. It left so much more room for action, rather then the confined corners like in the Super NES versions. The multiplayer was simply fantastic.

My vote is for Atomic Bomberman for PC. I believe it had up to 8 player online multiplayer, as well as a level editor.
Saurn Bomberman sounds like fun, but what extra peripherals do you need to play a 10 player game?

Two Saturn multitaps I would imagine. They accomodate 5 controllers each.

As for my favourite Bomberman? I've only played the SNES versions, and I'd have to Super Bomberman 4 or 5 (i believe these were SFC imports).

Though I can't wait to play the 8-player mode in my recently acquired Bomberman DS.

I was quite impressed with Bomberman DS with the dual screen maps finally making it into a Bomberman. I seem to remember scrolling maps being rumored for the DC Bomberman game but they never made it. Now they're finally here.

Saturn Bomberman has always been my favorite, but Mega Bomberman, Super Bomberman, and Bomberman '93 are all great too. I also enjoy the original MSX Bomberman, even though it bears little resemblance to the later games in the series. For instance, you and your enemies can walk through bombs, and you don't have to find the door to get to the next level.

Bomberman DS is the obvious new contender and to me gets the nod at the moment.

The upcoming touch bomberman looks good:

and how about the worst bomberman ever? Bomberman 1 for nes with no multiplayer, or the new xbox 360 game?
