Neo Geo dogtag games were games released in the US with a round logo featuring a rabid dog, it was a seal like the nintendo seal of quality. Neo geo later decided to replace the dog tag with the round neo geo logo instead.

dogtags were stopped after a certain year, I believe 97 or 98, I am not sure. so anything after that would have the NG logo instead.

As far as being more valuable I would say yes in a sense some people need them to complete their collection.

There are different version of games. In the US we had Dog tags while in euro they have the box styles that the latter neotitles have.

For instance I have a Fatal fury Dog tag version and euro version.

the point of the dogtag campaine was to get you thinking that the neo was bigger and better, so once you got it you were the big dog on the block.

Did a bit more reserch on the subject, the last dogtag game was Samuri Showdown 3 released at the end of 94.
