Said I'd keep my mouth shut for two weeks. Time's up! LOL Fortunately only 1 problem to report. And not really a problem- it made me laugh out loud!!!
Sold game December 10. Buyer failed to pay. I filed a non-paying dispute which scared them & they paid around December 20. This morning I got this message:
> I have paid via Paypal? I have yet to receive the item.
> Why you fool? If I do not get game I file chargeback.
I replied same way I reply to everyone--- "I sent your game & you should have it by the end of this week." Then I got breakfast & sent message #2.
"Wait a minute. I remember you! You took
>10 days< to pay me! Had to file a dispute
with ebay ---in order to get payment--- you
appeared to be a "non-paying buyer" (6 of
those in just one month. You were #7).
"PLEASE TELL ME, if you were in such a hurry to
get the game..... why were so slooooooow with
payment? Thank you.
"Oh- since you waited 10 days to pay- I waited
10 days to ship! (Fair is fair.) And used media
Snail-mail. Replace "end of this week" with "will receive
sometime before Feb 1." AND I used delivery
confirmation to protect myself from false chargebacks.
Don't try it. I have proof that you received your game.
"ADVICE- Don't expect fast service if you take 10
days to pay. Sellers don't like to be dicked around
by buyers who pay slooooooooowly & then
impatiently demand "Where's my package?" If you're
in a hurry- pay in a hurry. Not 10 days later!"
happy holidays!
LOL

Oh- since you waited 10 days to pay- I waited 10 days to ship!
Sorry to say it, but this makes you just as worse as the guy who waited 10 days to pay. Why should you wait 10 days to send it when you got the money?
One time I waited 3 weeks for a payment. When I finaly got it I sent the game the next day.
And if he sent you a mail today (3. january) and payed the 20th december I dont see anything strange with that. That is almost 2 weeks since payment so it isnt strange that he asks where his package is.

Angry. Guess ebay should include disclaimer "Don't sell when angry." ;) Serious answer--- I think there's no excuse for a Buyer to wait 10 days (or 21 days in your case). Why should we kill ourselves to do next-day shipping for such lazy buyers? You're right. Know it makes me "bad" but don't care.
If he'd paid quickly, his game would be sent with the other 30 packages on December 13. But he waited 'til December 20 to pay. Didn't feel like making a 20-mile drive to the USPO for just ONE package. So I shipped it at MY convenience one week later.
Maybe I'm wrong?
You have a good reason to drive 20 miles out of my way for this lazy buyer (versus waiting one week & shipping with the next batch of games)?
jajaja

Of course, it depends on how long you have to drive. If you have a reason why you couldnt send it before 10 days its understandable of course, but if you waited 10 days just because you was angry I dont see the reason.
Waiting for money sux ye, but I wouldnt use to much energy on getting angry over it. As long as you get it (within a certain time of course) thats what matters :)

Yeah my original email made it sound I did it for spite.
The real reason I waited 'til December 28 is I had another batch of games going out & wanted to make 1 trip not two. Maybe I ought to explain that to the Buyer?

I would do that atleast, or else you might get a negative for slow shipping.

What method of shipping did you advertise in the auction and charge the buyer for? If it was for media mail then all is fine. If you advertised parcel or priority and shipped media then you've done wrong.
Link?

Also, can Media Mail get confirmation?

CueWarrior, I know it's only January 3rd but that's got to be a candidate for the most annoying signature of the year.
Thank God for Firefox and Adblock.

Yes media is what he bought. Know what's annoying? He could buy priority but chose slow-mo shipping. If in a hurry he should have got the priority.
DC on media mail? Yes- do it all the time.
Whatever. He leaves a neg about slow shipping I'll just defend myself - "Paid 12/20. Shipped only 4 business days later. If in hurry-why didn't you buy priority?" ---->Just checked email & he says he's going to trust me & not chargeback.

Just out of curiosity, did you specify a time frame for payment in the auction? If not, I think you are blowing this a bit out of proportion. Yes the guy is being a jerk for asking where his game is, but 10 days to pay is not that bad. If you wanted immediate payment, you should have set up your auction that way. It is not uncommon for checks or money orders to get tied up in the mail, and its not like most people are going to run out to the post office immeditely after winning an auction to send payment.
Now the auction payment may have been by paypal, but I don't see the difference. You have to treat all your customers the same, regardless of how they pay. Besides, it is the Holiday Season and people can get quite busy. It may have been that he simply forgot to send payment.
I just can't believe you are upset over payment being sent in 10 days. Sure you had to file a NPB, but so what. You got paid. Case closed. Sometimes people are just too impatient, on both ends, when it comes to eBay.

No.
I'm upset with a guy complaining the game is late. It would not be late if he paid faster so I could ship on December 13 instead of 28.. He's pointing the finger at me - but should point it at himself

I caught that, that's why I said:

Still, if you were not upset over the 10 day payment issue, why did you stress that point frequently throught your post:

All I was saying is that this all "much ado about nothing." He paid, and you sent the item. I don't necessarily think that a 10 day payment and follow up email asking where the item is, justifies a rant post. But that is just me.

Already answered that in my previous post:. "It would not be late if he paid faster." The emphasis is to remind the Buyer he only has himself to blame.
