Is Yahoo or Amazon or ______ (fill-in-the-blank) good alternatives to Ebay?
I have an amazon selling account lying dormant. Never tried the auctions section. Is it good? Is Yahoo or _______ better?

I used to use Yahoo Auctions once in awhile but haven't even checked them out in a long time. On the other hand, I've bought many games through Amazon.com's "Marketplace" program and have been pretty much satisfied on all my purchases that way. I'll probably use that exclusively now, too, since I've decided to stop using Ebay.

I use a few auction sites. You get a good deal about once every two months. Nothing to stop using ebay for. Most the stuff is all overpriced and its people thinking they can get $25 for a boxed SMB3. It then sits on the site for 6 months and when you offer then something much less then say no it will sell!

I should take a run over to eBay and see what kind of notice I get...the credit card I have on file expired at the end of December. :D

There MANY years ago (pre 99), Yahoo! auctions were nearly on par with eBay IMO. Yahoo is now a shell of what it was

The main reason I am quitting Ebay is that, though I've never had too many problems with auctions, the few times I did have a problem, Ebay never did anything about it. I don't know if they felt they didn't have the power or just didn't give a hoot.

I dont think these other sites will do anything either. Most of the stuff i see is rip-offs from the get go. They don't even filter it like ebay does.
Its more about trusts on these other sites since the community is small. However, you still have to watch out for the ripoffs.

It takes several months until Ebay will kick you off.

You're probably right. There were a couple alerts about a week apart about updating my credit card information. But I've definitely decided to stop using eBay so I leave with a rating of (if I remember correctly) 584. I know many have ratings that are much higher.

Dont do yahoo it isnt worth it. I faced more scammer then legit buyers. They kept sending scams constantly. It free but yahoo is worst then ebay.Alot of my winning bidders didnt pay me and yahoo doesnt really do anything
