If I received a damaged item and paypal refused a refund - I can charge it back on my credit card.

Would paypal suspend my account?

Don't think so. My dad charged back on his CC after he bought a DVD that turned out to be a pirate and Paypal refused to refund.

Probably depends how much you're charging back though ... for a tenner, the CC company probably didn't even bother to recover it from Paypal - not cost efficient.

For £100 I expect they would, and who knows what Paypal would do. I don't doubt that they might freeze the account.

It's been said before, many times - Paypal sucks. It is true, and I only use them because there's nothing better. And believe me, I take all precautions.

They'll send you an email telling you not to do it, but who cares. Getting your money back is more important.

I've had to do a chargeback before for $660.00 because paypal wouldn't give a refund on a fraudulent auction. They just sent me an e-mail saying it was against their policy and not to do it anymore. I'm sure if you continued to do it over and over again they would do something about it, but not for one offense certainly.

I did it once for $1600 and they told me I had to go through them first or risk losing my account. Since you went through them first, they don't have any right to bitch.
