Like this guy's :

http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=samjanus1973

I saw his 100% and was amazed that you could get 12000 feedback without a neg .... but then I checked the profile and saw that he has 2!

I have bought from him in the past. Great service. Thoroughly deserves his 100% ratiing IMHO.

Maybe since it happened so long ago?

Actually, it's due to the mathematics involved. Feedback percentages shown are rounded to the nearest tenth of a percent. Therefore, when displayed, 99.85% = 99.949% = 99.9%. Basically, at this rate, for each negative feedback, it takes 1999 positives to erase it from the percentages. So someone with, say, 40,000 feedback rating can have 20 negatives and still be shown as having 100% rating.

Why does that have to be amazing? Why can't everyone just be good sellers like that person, describe exactly what they're selling, don't be lazy and ship out the item 1 week later, etc.. It's really not that hard. *Sigh*

But there's always that one quack that mucks things up no matter how good a seller you are.

Thought it was 1000 positives will erase 1 negative?

Show me other sellers that have 100% and over 10000 feedback points. Its not easy i tell you. As mentioned, there is always someone who arent happy and will give you negative.

Go sell 10,000 items without getting a bad feedback and then come back and lecture about it. Before then, don't bother.

I do exactly as you describe, but I've still got three negatives. All from people who never sent me payment and then got pissed off when I negged them.

Probably about to get another from some guy who bought a load of games three months ago and has only decided to tell me now that that they didn't arrive. Funnily enough, I am not going to waste my time chasing that one up - especially since they were £1 games.

Because not every negative is deserved -- many people get them from crazy/impossible-to-please buyers/sellers.

I only got one negative for selling. I sold someone a Yoshi's Island for SNES from my personal collection. I played it very often and played it the day before I shipped it out. The buyer got it and said it didn't work(Keep in mind they said this in a negative feedback post, she didnt email me first) First she said it only works like 3/4 tries and tried it on 2 different systems. I couldnt do anything since she already left me a negative instead of contacting me first.

Followup - "If you had a problem why didn't you contact me? You'd get a refund."

Negative- "Had a problem. Failed to contact seller. Violated ebay's rules via non-communication."
And- "You are a poor customer. Don't give anybody a chance to fix a flaw."

She could mutualy withdraw the negative.

Ha .. one of my negs offered to mutually withdraw the feedback. However I don't think I will. He deserved his feedback - never paid, never responded to the NPB. I don't see why he should have that removed from his record.

Besides, I've got 1100 positive feedbacks, I really don't care about 1 neg from an idiot. He's got 7 feedback, so my neg on his record is doing what it ought to do - warning other ebayers about a crappy ebayer.

Isnt there a new feedback rule that if the buyer doesnt reply to the NPB notice his/her negative will be removed?

Vroomfunkel

Yes, but I registered the NPB before the rule came into effect. So even though he left the negative last week, I still can't get it removed.

Just recently closed a Dispute against a non-payer. Then clicked 'leave feedback' but it was too late. He was NARU'd by my NPB Strike!

Ooops!

Now I know;- leave feedback first before giving a Strike. LOL
