XBOX 360 PROFILE CORRUPTED!!!!!!!!!!!

HOLY SWEET FUCK. I just finihed playing the FN 3 demo and i go to load up DOA4. I get a, you must sign in to play msg. So i shut off the box and boot it up without DOA4. It doesn't list my profile. Upon further investigation i find that under memory my profile is listed as corrupted.

WTF? Is it related to FN3? is it related to DOA4? Seriously this is a major 'Danger Will Robinson' moment.

Anyone else suffered this fate?

Woah, that blows. I know theres a bug in DOA 4 that will overwrite your save file if your profile isn't loaded by the time it gets to the title screen, but I haven't heard anything about actual corrupted profiles in any instance.

I downloaded the FN3 demo but I think I'll hold off on playing it now.

Did you check tecmo's site for this problem? Sounds like a software bug. You should be able to reload your profile and as long as the save files are still there you should be ok.

I know DOA4 had a problem which i thought was wiping out the save file but my actually profile is gone. There is no longer an option to sign into it.

There's no offical word from tecmo. But i'm checking Gamefaqs and IGN's boards for more info.

EDIT: Here's what's really wonderful. If i recover the profile then it will delete everything i have saved. EVERYTHING.

This is a Major fucking Concern. I think i'm gonna try and reach Major Nelson on Skype.

Yeah i called but they closed at 1 am EST.

I tried to do the recovery figuring, fuck it i can play DOA4 for 22 hours straight no problem and get everything i lost back, but when i go to recover my profile it was there isn't enough room on the device. I have 5 gb free, how is that not enough room for a profile? Something is seriously fucked up.

Also i can't copy my DOA4, Condemned or PDZ save files to another profile because that is forbidden. Fuck you very much Rare, Sega and Tecmo.

Worst case scenario, couldn't you buy a memory card and transfer your save games files onto that? If you have to wipe them to recover the profile, that may be your only chance.

I can't do that because i'd have to be logged in as the corrupted profile in order to copy it. That's the Catch 22. Thankfully i got my Call of Duty Vetern Save backed up.

Damn, I just downloaded the Fight Night 3 demo, and I was about to try it out, but after reading this, I think I'll hold off a bit. I don't have DOA4, but it would definitely suck to completely lose a profile.


I'm thinking that maybe I should get a memory card, just to copy all my saves to it just in case. My 360 does have some issues, it does lock up every now and then, and I might have to return it to Costco when they get more stock in, but I dont' want to lose all my game saves and stuff. So maybe a memory card would be a good idea, even though I never had any plans to pay $39.99 for a damn memory card.

man the FN3 demo was nice, as much as I hate to say that, EA deserves some credit every now and again, I guess when it comes to NON- official sports like racing and boxing, EA can handle that, but they drop the ball on MLB, NHL, NBA, and of course the 500 pound grid-iron gorilla, MADDEN... but enough of my rant, FN3 is nice. and I am looking forward to it.

I downloaded it last night when i got back from school but havent played it yet.
I will wait till i know more about this problem to play the demo.
On a side note since this is the demo does that mean the full version might be coming real soon?
They just announced the cover athlete on the psp and 360 versions will be DLH. and now this demo.
Im smelling a release of feb 15th instead of the TBD that gamecrazy told me 2 days ago!

As for the demo, i'm the first person to call in to MS about it, so who knows what happened.

I know when I disconnected my ups and had my electrical system down for about 12hrs. When I booted up my 360
my profile was gone at first I was caught off guard thinking something was wrong but I think they have some type of authenification process that needs to be addressed before your profile is restored when the system has been down for a while.

I remember the original xbox would need the clock reset after 30 mins or so without power. I think that with the way technology vastly improving microsoft has all sort of sneaky tactics under the cover of darkness tactics.
Maybe hard drive mod authentification. Or maybe the profile is stored on the Ms server and when you log on the profile is pushed down and activated.

I personally believe alot of stuff gets corrupted in the name of security.

There tech support is least then technically knowledgable, but they did tell me that mine was the first case.

In the End i had to erase and recover my profile and then start DOA4 and PDZ over from scratch.

No they're stored on Live with my Gamercard.
