Just look at this:

I didn't think they would keep making games for this long, and who will buy this game accept collectors? X_x :hmm:

You'd think that, but every time I go to Funco there's people who are clearly not collectors buying PSX and even SNES games. Not everyone has the means for the newest, and because the PS2 is backwards compatable, it's pretty smart for them to keep going with PSX games. Hell, I'd wager if they were still making SNES games, people other than collectors would buy them.

OMFG
Virtual Sea Monkeys.
Videogaming has hit a new low.
And... Yes a lot of people still buy for the PS1, it out-sold GC and xbox over the holidays I believe.

People will buy anything if it's cheap and packaged attractively.
Or, if it's cheap and it gets the kids to stop whining.

This is what's known as the mother/relative factor. Old people who have kids/nieces/nephews who have absolutely NO IDEA WTF is going on.
"Oh Little Jimmie likes these new fangled video games, I'll get him one. Oh, this one is only $10, Great! They'll think I spent a fortune on them!"
Of course, Little Jimmie is gonna grow up and laugh at your funeral old man, because he doesn't have a PS1, and he doesn't want a friggin virtual sea monkey, AND he knows you found it in the "cheap F*^& bin"

BOO YAH!
This game was the best game I have ever played. Screw Final Fantasy, Zelda, smash Bros, and all that other crap! If you haven't played this, you haven't lived a proper human life! I insist that you buy this awesome, unimaginably cool game! In fact, if you don't I'll come over to your house and MAKE YOU BUY IT!
See?

That game in the link (Sorcerer's) has said 12/03 since it first went up on EB months ago. I don't think it's actually coming out.
However, two games are still definitely on the release track - the FF 1+2 collection in April being of the highest profile.

It is out. I saw it at the local EB a couple of days ago. Along with quite a few of those $10 titles that no one will buy, and a few years down the road, will have collectors cursing themselves for not buying that stuff when it was only $10. Just like all the other systems whose late releases are tough to find now. Wish I'd bought that complete copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga I saw at a local CD/Game store for $15 a few years back. Didn't think anything of it then. Damn.

I don't know which is lamer, Virtual Sea Monkeys...or this (http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/categories/products/product.asp?pf_id=232881).
I know some folks dig it, I just don't like pinball sims.
I'd like to see PS1 games keep coming out - I kinda like havin' stuff to play on my little gadget with the LCD screen. :D

That are both super lame at the same time.
I must buy them both. LOL

Is it just me or did the cover for Sorcerer's Maze look like an R.L. Stine book got smacked by the Chessmaster?

That's the funniest thing I've read all week.
I also doubt these budget titles are going to become the next Panzer Dragoon Saga- popularity and play value also have something to do with it.

Some of these budget titles are actually pretty good though, and I could definitely see them being worth something eventually. Board Game: Top Shop, or something to that affect, was pretty darn good. It was the only game I played for a week when I bought it.

I agree, Board Game: Top Shop was pretty fun, but compare the titles that are worth the $10 to the plethora of the rest of them that aren't.

Yeh, I'd been getting tingly excited about Sorcerer's Maze ever since I saw it advertised on the instruction manual for my copy of Sol Divide (yet another fabulous $10 title). This whole $10 title thing is so hit-or-miss (gameplay wise) that I'm waiting until somebody can tell me that X game only sucks a little bit.
Sol Divide only sucks a little bit, BTW.

The Sea Monkeys title isn't anything like "Virtual Sea Monkeys" or whatever you think it is.
Think of it this way... it's "Lemmings Underwater".
I'm not saying it's good, I'm just saying there's no reason to think it's going to be awful just because of the title. And I'll tell you something else, I finally had a chance to play Gubble and Gekioh and they're SOLID games.

Im not suprised one bit about them still making ps1 games, from working in retail I sell more ps1 games than ps2 because most normal people are cheap bastards who dont wanna spend the money. So collectors def. arent the only ones still snatching ps1 games.

I've been picking up a lot of the $9.99 games and hope they continue to come out. Joe's right both Gubble and Gekioh are very good. Of course there are going to be crap games (Largo Winch) but that's true of the full price games as well.
When I checked that link for Sorcerers Maze I saw a couple I'd be interested in. Marble Master and Jigsaw Madness. If Jigsaw Madness is anything like Pieces for the SNES it should be pretty fun.
LONG LIVE THE PS1!!!!!!!!

Gekioh
Gubble
Top Shop
What else stands out from the pack in the latest batch of "bargain" titles for the PSX? And what's the deal with those crummy looking Disney games?

I don't mean to pick on EnemyZero, but I'm suprised so many people in this thread *care* that people are cheap when it comes to buying games. Not everybody has the need to have the latest and greatest - and I see nothing wrong with that.
