View Full Version : Somewhat scary, yet stupid thought-videogame parade

All right, I know perfectly well this is the dumbest thread ever (and maybe most random), but I got a funny thought that kind of made me cringe, but laugh at the same time...but then it sounded interesting for a minute. Well, just a little. Then I cringed again. I might even hurl.

Imagine a parade...much like any other big parade, but the floats are replicas of videogame vehicles and scenes. Could you imagine a Vic Viper full size replica? Or the vehicle from Blaster Master? Or maybe Samus Aran's ship? Or a big old ball of shit from Katamari?

Maybe a guy dressed as Mario could continuously slide down a flagpole.

The military dudes you see in normal parades would probably be a bunch of dudes dressed as Master Chief or something.

Just don't make the floats out of all flowers and shit...

Imagine all the freaks in cosplay. Scary stuff indeed. Fun for the whole family.

I guess it's a good thing that there's no national holiday for videogames yet.

If I make a thread about a videogame Broadway musical, that's basically when you have an invitation to come to NH and shoot me.

Ok, now that I've just ruined your whole day, flame away, er, I mean post. Hurry up before I think you hate me. My manliness is very much bruised right now for having such terrible thoughts.

Oh, unrelated...anyone know a good shrink?

Actually, I think that's what gave me the nightmares. Damn spicy food.

Dont laugh too hard, here in atlanta they have a parade through downtown during dragon con. Everyone dressed up in their sci-fi best walking down the streets of atlanta in 90 degree heat. I go every year and I always try and make the parade, I like to sit on the side of the street and have a nice couple of cold drinks next to me as I watch guys in storm trooper outfits sweating their ass off.

Dragon Con, huh? Wow. Let's just hope such a parade doesn't happen at E3 or something.

On a related note, I'm very sure some famous characters already had floats/balloons/whatever made for them in previous parades.

Have Donkey Kong throw kegs of beer at the crowd. That would be killer!

My town has what's called a "Good Neighbor Day" parade every year and chooses a different theme each time. Around 1983-84 the theme was indeed video games and every float had something to do with it. I don't remember much about what was in it, but I do have pictures somewhere of people wearing Pac-Man and Q*Bert full-body costumes and passing out tokens to the local arcade.

Of course, this was waaaaaaay before cosplay.

Macy's had Sonic. Maybe Pac-Man. But definintely Sonic.

Anyway, imagine South Koreans coming to the parade dressed as zerglings.

ZERG RUSH KE KE KE KE KE KE.

Personally, I think a 4chan parade would be better.

LOL

The thought of people dressed as Borgs, Klingons, and Stormtroopers & willingly walking down some street in 90+ temps makes me laugh...

ALOT!
