I was debating whether or not I would bid on this if I was old enough. Maybe some day but not today.

I have the issue, but I can't say that I still have the NP Supplies catalog he's talking about still kicking around.

Yeah its legit, at least it looks like it is, the picture is from pretty far away. I have this controller, bought it from NP myself all those years ago. Its basically a gold controller with a foil NP sticker on the top.

Nintendo Power held a Mario Kart 64 time trial contest shortly after the game's release. A gold N64 controller was the main prize for getting a top time.

I then remember seeing them in the supplies catalog a few months later, which was around the time of the 100th issue.
