Sorry for creating a new topic just after registering here, but I've searched for a similar topic to ask this question and I haven't found any. So if there is one and I was just too stupid or blind to find it, please bear with me (it's 01:44 AM here ^^) .

Now on to my question. ^^
I've seen this pic today and I was wondering if this really is a special edition of the N64. I've never heard of it and if it is real, then why is there no box or some sort of certificate or anything? Is it maybe just a fan construction made of a smoke black and a clear green N64?

Maybe he mixed the Donkey Kong edition Nintendo 64 with a clear plastic model for a custom look?

I don't know, I'm not an expert on the N64.

Looks like it to me as well, but that's a hella nice theme/idea. Really works out perfectly.

Let's get NESvidiot in here to answer...

You see there's two other pictures.

From what I can tell...that's a regular copy of the game, as mine has all the same inserts (I thought there were more, but anyways). The N64 color is pretty darn cool, however.

Yes all, I do admit it is a custom made system- there was no special release. But since I had access to a lot of N64 sytems, I thought it would be cool to mod an N64 so that it plays Japanese carts so I don't have to mod the cart. While I was at it I figured it would be cool if the system kinda matched the game, which is sort of a rare in north america. So I created my special N64 Sin & Punishment Edition.

Please feel free to copy me, if you like! It's not like I have any copyright on it! LOL

It is a nice change to the regular color system, and it gets some looks and questions.

I have a few other ideas too, will have to wait and see if they work out.

Sorry to thread jack, but just wanted to give a huge thank you for actually checking before starting a new topic and then starting a new and interesting topic! We like that around here. :)

Welcome to the boards, BTW.

Wow, thx for the warm welcome. ^^

Since I am a mod myself, I know how I expect people to behave...and of course being grown up helps, too. ^^

BTW: I'd like to take the opportunity to compliment all of you for such a great forum as this. No flaming or spamming as far as I can tell and finally I've found a place with really professional and interesting discussions and with gamers and collectors who really know what they're talking about.

Sorry if this sounds "too nice" to be true, but I'm seriously glad I found this place. ^^

I've mixed and matched a few colors of N64- clear teal and clear hot pink make a nice mix too- or if you want to get real fancy, who out there is a good artist with an airbrush, or some bondo and fiberglass. Some real cool custom mods could be made- sort of like the West Coast Choppers of videogames. Imagine some of the cool systems you could design. I highly reccomend checking out "videogames" custom painted colored systems and "gamegirl79" 's cool custom systems in her game room, especially her " Hellraiser special edition PS2" that I'm sure she got in a deal with Pinhead himself.

Anyone else who want to get creative PLEASE post some pics of the mods you are doing!
There is always an interest for something unique and cool!

wish only more pro-modellers are into the video gaming as well... some of pro-modellers can and do create the awesome model full scratch - i.e. entirely by hand from basic materials and not like injection mould kits that you can buy from shop...

bit OT but I saw a Dreamcase case mod'd that look like XBOX and GameCube... :p
