I was wondering why I saw an eBay auction claiming the guy had a US PokePark system yesterday. Thanks for the info :)

So basically it is just an electric blue DS with "PokePark" written on the top of it? And a different box?
Just checkin'

yup...
at first i thought that pokepark and electric blue were actually different, but the more i look at them, i think it's just the lighting in the pictures... i'm pretty certain they're exactly the same.
(or, since electric blue wasn't released in japan, it's the pepsi blue DS without pepsi logos and with pokemon logos...)

So is it a US system or a Japenese system?

well it's hard to tell what product would show up on your doorstep if you order it, but if those are pictures of what walmart is actually sending out to customers, the product code on that box ends in JPN.
i'm guessing these are japanese units, probably overstock from the pokepark promotion. they were probably opened up, given american paperwork, and then resealed for sale in the states.
my biggest question... if NOA got these, why isn't this a pokemon center exclusive? doesn't shit like this usually go through there before somewhere like walmart.com? unless walmart purchased the japanese overstock.

Strange... cool though if you're a DS collector or a pokemon fan.
If I had the cash I'd probably buy one.

Copied from the DS Collection thread (combined 2 of my posts):
Got my Pokepark system today in the mail. The system is definitely the Japanese version...the code on the box ends in JPN and it has Japanese writing on the bottom of the box. But there are some small changes. They put a new (sticker) barcode over the existing one. Also, inside they include all the paperwork for an American system (all with codes that end with USA). It also has a US warning sticker on the bottom of the box too.
Just incase anyone missed it there and was wondering :)

just so everyone knows, the pokepark and the electric blue DS are not the same color, i compared them side by side today, the pokepark system is a lighter shade of blue and much more shiny than the electric blue, which is more of a matte finish.

in another thread, Drexel923 said that his side-by-side comparison showed them to be alike... perhaps the pokepark one being slightly DARKER.
so now i'm all confused.

Just checked again and I was wrong...the Pokepark one is definitely LIGHTER. Sorry about the confusion. :)
