Well, after almost having my CD32 for a year, I finally got the opportunity to test it out on a friend's CD32 power adapter, and yes, it turns out that my console is fine, and it's my power adapter that's died.

My question is:

- Is there anything I can do to repair the supply?

- If not, is this power supply unique to the CD32, or was it used on other Amiga computers (ergo, could I grab a replacement easily from an Amiga comp.)?

- Finally, can anyone point me in the right direction of getting one of these power supply's?

As I recall, it uses a truly bizarre power supply, but I vaguely remember there is some other Amiga computer that uses the same type. I'll see if I can hunt down more specifics.

Actually, it is unique to the CD32. You should be able to wire up an old A500/600/1200 power supply to work with it though.

I thought there was some prototype Amiga computer that used the same PSU...

there are some versions of the commodore 64 computer that use the same pinout. otherwise you could always get the pinout and wire up an amiga 1200, or a commodore 64 supply to it like i did with mine.

I hear you can use a power supply from a PC to use with your Amiga CD32, as long as you have an adapter. Here's a link to one found on eBay:

I'm guessing you'd probably need an AT form factor power supply, so you'd have an on/off switch. Should be a cheap and easy find, though.
