You can go to Best Buy right now and get a keyoard and mouse setup that utilizes that technology. It's not new tech, just new to the console gaming industry.

Off topic, but has anybody else seen the touchpad Genesis controller? I recall seeing one on eBay that you could sorta move your thumb across instead of pressing a direction on the d-pad (I think).

Pinky are you thinking what I am thinking? We could have had the revocon throughout the GC's entire lifetime. This press release is 10 days after Nintendo released the GC in Japan.

Yes, but then it probably would have just been some dumb gimmick that no one paid much attention to, instead of being a huge part of the console experience.

If it's going to be a dumb gimmick then it was always going to be a dumb gimmick if they base a console around it or not. Though I could see people ignoring it and its games because of viewing it as just another expensive peripheral only necessary to play a set of games they could easily do without. Now they will need to ignore a whole console.

I agree completely. Same thing with the DS. No one wants to play with a stupid touchpad. LOL. Nintendo is so stupid, with thier gimmicks.

I had a genesis pad years ago that used gyroscopic technology. You could move it left or right and it would move left or right, and if you sort of 'jolted it' it would press the A button.

But the Revolution controller doesn't use gyros, it uses a more sophisticated version of the PowerGlove technology.
