This is performed by "Famicom Band" a japanese group that plays music from numerous famicom and super famicom games, I have a CD on my computer. They do an amazing Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 3 medley!

Wow. That was really well done. I think the only thing it was missing was the little noises Mario makes when he counts.

At first I was like huh. Then the second pass through I watch the whole thing. I thought it did a good job conveying the spirit of the game. I had a good laugh.
Great post

NES music is music for every moment in your life, especially Mario 1. Every time there is a problem I think of the castle them music, and everytime there is a miracle happening the star them music comes on in my head ;)

"That melody which even now remains in the ear. "
quoted from their web page which was google translated lol
I just listened to an mp3 of their chronotrigger theme (off the website) and it is awesome.
game music would be great for road trips as a trivia or conversation starter
I would love one of their cds (provided the majority of the music I can recognize). Do the other famicom cds have live bands, or are they pure synth pulled from the game?
don't mean to pirate the thread, but any suggestions on game music cds?

brings back sweet memories of that day in 2004 where I beat the game without being hit once. Don't think I can do that again, for sure.

No. Way.
Geez, things are getting out of hand. This video is stolen from the band's site, plastered with the watermark of some other video site that is no doubt packed with banner/google ads, then posted on yet another video site filled with ads. Whee.
Here is the original video:

LOL Definitely. I hear the beginiing of the title screen music of the original Metroid when something particularly dreadful is happening. I hear the Kraid level theme when something spooky is going on. The "level finished" music from Contra plays when I do something particularly cool or badass. Randomly, various Double Dragon themes float in my head..always have for some reason, especially level one of DD2 for NES. Ever get a tune stuck in your head and can't shake it? Yeah, that DD2 song has been stuck in my head for nearly 15 years...call the whitecoats.

For some reason, I often wake up with the Zelda 2 palace theme in my head. Various other Nintendo music often permeates my life (I'll suddenly find I have Punch-Out or Faxanadu music in my head), especially since all my ringtones are from Nintendo games (and I have custom ones for each friend.
