What's the better port of this game? The Saturn version or the Playstation ver?

I own the Saturn version, and I've never played the PSX one. From what I've heard, they are both pretty much the same and both versions are usually dirt cheap on ebay. I guess it comes down to which controller you like using better - the Saturn's, or the PSX's.

that's a question i asked myself a while back and you're best off reading through this topic, surprisingly at the neo-geo forums

edit:
to make things short, the PSX version seems to be the better one

Honestly, MAME and the ROM is going to be a much more satisfying expirence. I never realized that game played so smooth until I tried it on MAME.

Sidenote, my Saturn copy has a terrible time actually loading on the machine. I've heard from other people this isn't uncommon. (Maybe it was a bad pressing.) Terribly frustrating, and another strike against the Saturn rev, IMHO.

Thanks!

I have it on Mame, and that'd why I want real copy, soo I guess I'll go with the Saturn copy.

I have the same issue. Nothing wrong with the disc or the Saturn, but it has intermittent problems with startup. Big strike.

WHY!?! The PSX version is definitely the one to get. I have them both and the PSX version is noticeably better. One of those rare times where the PSX wins outright with a 2D game.

Well, from those link's? The Saturn version is fine, just plug in the controllers after the boot-up CG, but since you've got both and claim the PS ver. is better? I guess I'll go with that one then :D

Ehh, I bought the Saturn version because it ran too slowly in MAME and RAINE and I thought it was my PC, so I was disappointed when I played it on Saturn and saw that it really did run that slow. At least in MAME you can overclock the F3's CPU and smooth it out.

My first copy of In the Hunt I got for the Saturn off of Ebay had this problem. It would load only 2 out of 10 tries. I figured this was just a problem with the disc...because I sent it back for another copy, and the new disc loads perfectly everytime.

All you have to do to fix this problem is not have any controllers plugged into the system while the game loads. Now go enjoy the Saturn version.
