this item showed up under my username. it is highly suspicious because, it states that payment options are paypal (to a email accont that's not mine) and bank transfers. also, its a private auction.

I have reported it to ebay, changed my password, secret questions, etc.

I have already replied to a buyer question telling him/her "don't bid" and am inclined to message the other bidders to retract their bids.

should i leave it alone until ebay tells me what to do? or should I close the auction so no further damage is done?

here it is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:US:12&item=5853523937

Nice spelling too. :D

Have you actually spoken with an Ebay rep or just through e-mails?

I haven't gotten any feedback from them yet (sent an email through the ebay security center)

do you suggest I give them a call? (that may be a prob cuz of their hours and my work schedule, last time i called (about a year ago) they were closed and stated their hours were within my working hours. Who do they think they are, a bank? I guess pp is a bank though huh.)

found this
http://pages.ebay.com/help/tp/isgw-account-theft-reporting.html

I've done everything it says except close the auction, so that's what I'm doing right now.

Ebay security center isn't very well organized. it took me 1/2 an hour to find that.

That's crazy ! O_O Did you reply to one of those fake ebay emails or something ? How do you think they accessed your account ???

I have never responded to any ebay emails by clicking links. if i get an ebay email (or any email form any website) I access my account on the website directly, and see what's up

some of my theories of when it happened:

I probably was on an insecure line when I was jacking WiFi on my lappy and I accessed my account.

A survey that I took 6 months ago THROUGH accessing my account was really a fake. If this is true (God save us) Damn those phishers are good, but the thing is i never input my user name or password, and I was on an encrypted line with all the anti spyware crap.

Oh and my old 97 vaio that I had before i got my new computer. On it I used free dialup form the university and accessed my acount alot. Ididn't have any anti spyware on that, but it was also dialup on a pentium 2! LOL

I guess you could also consider that someone on the University's network (when I'm in the computer lab) could have stolen my info too, but they say that that stuff is protected from compy to compy. people access their university accounts to pay fees and tuition like mad there, so I would hope there is some kind of encryption within the network.

I'm not too smart about web/networking stuff, but those are the probabilities I see.

You might not be smart, but if that's you in that avatar, then who cares. That is one beautiful woman.

i can tell you the stress in a beam, or the drag coefficient of a car, or make a robot move, but don't ask be too much about networking

That sucks. I hope ebay finally responds and gets everything back to normal.

I would be freaking out if something was being sold that I didn't list...

yeah, it'd kinda freaking me out too, but I changed all my passwords, and I am only going to log onto secure connections (afaik)

Ebay hasn't gotten back to me, which shows how much they care about the little guys. That's shady in its own right.

anyway, I cleared my cache, and ran a virus scan blah blah blah, and I feel pretty confident that I'm secure again

This is the first time anything like this has happened to me ever, and I have enver changed my password

after this experience, I'm changing my password at lease once a year for relevant stuff. It sucks, but it is just another safety measure.

Same thing happened to me about 6 months ago except someone listed a car under my name. I went to the live help chat and ended talking to some chick with a sexy Califorian accent (sexy to me anyway) on the phone to verify my name. Anyway she canceled the auction and let me create a new password. It most likely was that survey. You do not even have to type your user name or password for those phishing scams to take affect.

just got a response to my problem, they said to get on live help to restore my privilages just like you did bluteg

BTW does bluteg have anything to do with the kind of car you drive?

this happened to me recently, as well...

they kept hacking my ebay account each time i changed my password, what stopped them was changing my email password...

its a pain in the ass dude...

Is the shipping address out of the country?

no everything was listed under my name except the paypal account. which was basically my email address with a few numbers added to the suffix

Teknik_SE-R, Yeah I used to drive a blue Integra but she was destroyed by a fucking deer that decided to cross road on the other side of a sharp curve that I was coming into.
