Get your Super Mario Bros. Coin in Animal Crossing DS Today!

Animal Crossing: Wild World players who connect to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection today are discovering that the Nintendo president is sending out a New Year's treat: a "personalized" letter with a special and rare item that players can place in their house. The rare item that players receive is a coin taken from the Super Mario Bros. game, when you walk up to it and touch the coin is will let out a familiar "ba-ding!" sound effect.

This letter is most likely only a temporary gift so if you haven't already, get online and get yours, just connect your game to the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection service. You don't have to visit a village, just opening your gates is good enough for Nintendo to drop the item into your mailbox.

Wow Thanks Cmtz! I had no idea this was available, because I hadn't connected to Nintendo Wifi since Christmas break!!!

If anyone else discovers "wifi-only" Animal crossing prizes, please post them!!

While Nintendo is doing all these great things through Wifi, it doesn't help us people without Wifi. One thing that ticks me off about this game is that you cannot get they biggest Nook store without someone from another village buying an item from your store. What about us people who don't have Wifi? That makes us have access to less items, and we don't get the hair salon, a feature I was really looking forward to. Seems like Nintendo is just forcing it on you to go Wifi.

It cost me a total of $15 to change my home network to a WiFi network. Nintendo has always made you buy more stuff or play with others in order to access certain features. This is really not anything new.

Do you know anyone with Animal Crossing? You don't have to have someone come and buy something by WiFi, it can just be DS to DS.

Nope. I don't know anyone else at school with a DS @_@.

I guess I will have to end up going to McDonalds, too bad a rarely eat there :( .

And according to my dad(even though I kinda doubt it) broadband isn't available in my area yet.

It was the same way with the original Cube game.

I think it is creative ideas like this, this level of personalization with the player that really makes Nintendo stand out in the fun sense, truly makes you feel like a part of something.

BTW SNES collector where in VA do you live, if you just need something bought from your nook store maybe someone on here is near by?
