I have thought about this for a while. Somebody should make some sort of USB adapter for the Gameboy link cable. This could allow you to play Gameboy online, or perhaps against a program running on you computer. Or, for a game like pokemon or animal crossing, you could download free goodies to your game. Im not saying that Nintendo should/would make this, but somebody should. Instructions could be provided to make the cable, and a program could be released.

What do you think?

I know the GBA is impossible to do because of internet bandwidth limitations. I don't know about the other Game Boys though.

Id be curious to know the data rate of these technologies. So no GBA, but perhaps normal Game Boy.

since you use a wireless usb adapter for the DS, that's prob one of the reasons why it isn't BC with gb/gbc.

The old Game Boy link cable was apparently a notoriously awful piece of technology, documented in outdated tech documents and lacking any form of flow control. That is why not so many games ended up using it.

On the other hand, I do recall reading that it was possible to modify a Macintosh keyboard for use in the link port, in order to facilitate playing the homebrew ports of various old text adventures. And then there's BriPro's (http://www.bripro.com) GBlinkdl.
