after the competition they were sold with boxes through the nintendo power catalog. same for starfox weekend.

Yessirry -
The Donkey Kong cart comes in a Green plastic case with a nice label on the case.
Not sure about the StarFox - though I know that there is a pin, and a card from Nintendo Power that were sent with the cart when ordered through the mag.

As far as I know there was no box for the starfox weekend cart.
