(again)

Recently over this long winter break I've had the urge to play some SNES and my all time favorite 2D baseball title, the original Ken Griffey Jr.

I'm also looking to finally play classics I've never really played before, including Super Metroid and Legend of Zelda... lol I know, hang him!!!!111

Feel free to share similar stories, or bestow me with some words of wisdom/recommendation/whatever.

It's the year 2006, and someone says, "Well, guys, it looks like I'm getting a Super Nintendo." I love it! Congrats. Like Maniac said, you're in for a real treat if you haven't played some of the classics.

See this topic (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1160) for all your recommendation needs.

The Firemen. Truly a wonderful game.

Although it's an NTSC-J/PAL only release. You're better off with the nice english version, so you'll need a converter. Or get the soldering iron out and do the 50/60Hz mod and security chip mod.

Oh, and one of those nifty flash carts would be useful. Nothing like playing fan translations on real hardware.

If you get Super Metroid, be prepared to have a long gaming session. When I first got it, I played it from dusk to dawn...and I'm not kidding. Super Punch-Out is another favorite.

I never owned a SNES untill I think it was 1998 maybe. I only had a NES and Genesis growing up but my friend had a SNES and some of my favorite games growing up were on the SNES so when I finally got my own it was great. Actraiser was one of my favorites and I had been meaning to pick it up since 98 but didn't finally get it untill this Christams from my SS.

Here are some of my favorites:

Actraiser
Super Mario Kart
U.N. Squadron
Gradius 3
Tecmo Super Bowl (first one the other two not so great)
Super Bomberman 2
Tetris Attack
Pilotwings

YAY! A new SNES owner!

Try out FireStriker, I've never played it yet, but it looks alot like Hansha de Spark to me. Four player simultaneous too!

HAHA awesome. As you know, I quite liked Hansha de Spark! (Saturn import)... I'll be sure to check it out. And thanks for all the recommendations and esp. to that one guy who posted the link above the Metroid pic.
