So many classic arcade games- Pac Man, Donkey Kong, Galaga, etc. had vertical monitors. I know there are several shooters (Mostly on the SegaSaturn) that offer a tate option (play the game full-screen with the picture rotated vertically) but are there any console ports of classic arcade games that let you do that?

I haven't played many of the collections available for the major consoles now, all I have is Midway Treasures vol1. But I wouldn't imagine any of the others offer the vertical feature, I read something on the shmups.com forums about companies not wanting to be liable for people screwing up their TVs by turning them on their sides.

Right now I play the old games in their "original form" by emulating them with MAME on an Xbox. I suppose my only other option is to buy a Supergun and get the original boards. But, that's kind of a hassle...

PS1:
Irem Arcade Classics
Namco Museum 1-5 and Encore

Can't recall if the PS1 Capcom Generations discs offer this or not. Someone else says they do, though, so go ahead and add that to the list.

Arcade vertical mode is a truly beautiful thing. :D
