need a bit of help with MAMED - roms don't run

I'm trying to get Marvel Super Heroes to run in MAMED, on a Dreamcast.

I've gone to digita.mame.net for my copy of MAMED, and burned a CD-R with version .37b15.5, including all game-lists.

I found the ROM msh.zip (about 19.2Mb) & mshu.zip (about 1.2Mb), and, with 3 other roms (dkongjr, bbakraid, esprade) burned a second CD with a <ROMS> directory containing the zipped ROM files.

Seeing a note at digita.mame.net about some games requiring an older MAMED, I tried burning a copy of MAMED .37b6.5 .

With either version I see the same results:
1) I start the Dreamcast with the MAMED disc in the drive.
2) I select the gamelist for the game I'm trying to play.
3) The disc spins and the screen goes black for a couple of seconds.
4) I get a menu with 2 choices: EXIT, or RESCAN.
5) I remove the MAMED disc, insert the ROMs disc, and hit RESCAN.
6) The disc spins up, and a second later I see a menu with EXIT, RESCAN, and the ROM filenames of the ROMs on the disc that are included in the gamelist I chose.
7) I choose a ROM, and the screen simply blinks and stays on the menu.

Can any of you that are proficient with MAMED see what I'm doing wrong?

Does just this one game not work, or does no game work? That would narrow down whether it's your program or the rom. I know most consoles simply don't have the RAM to run the bigger roms.

Not to mention Mame for the Dreamcast sucks. Good luck getting anything aside from Pacman & it's variants to run.

I've only tried the 4 ROMs I list in the original post. I see the same exact results with each of them.

Again, about the only roms i've seen work with DC Mame is Pacman/Puckman and it's variants (like Crush Roller, etc.). Try those.
