View Full Version : Game Boy Color BOXED US Collection COMPLETED!

I usually would not announce something like this, but since Game Boy Color was a pain the ass to find every game complete, I felt the need to do so. It ended up taking me a little over 15 months to track EVERY US released Game Boy Color game boxed, but I was finally able to do it. Last two games were Matchbox Emergency Patrol, and NHL Blades of Steel 2000, which was a bitch to find boxed! Original Game Boy is next, and I need 17 boxes to have a complete, boxed collection of those.
I would eventually like to complete Game Boy Advance complete, and have a great head start so far, 600 boxed games....
Does anyone know how many current US GBA games there are? The DP list is not up to date.

First of all, congrats! :)
Me too, I would also like to see some pics. And good luck with the GBA collection. Anyone knows how many GBA games there are total? I guess there would be ~1500 @_@

I remember reading how many GBA games there were on the GBA micro site. It said something like, "has a library of ~ 700 games." It gave a specific number, but I think it was something like 720.
of course, they are still releasing GBA games.
Sweet work on the boxed GBC collection. that is really cool. I agree, we need to see pics! How many games is that total?

Damn That's something, man! A bunch of kids got those GBC games, and you KNOW they didn't keep those boxes. Find a complete copies of old GBC games is quite an accomplishment. Getting complete copies of the original GB games is a damn chore.
Most impressive.

wow, that's just insane, i have a new aim for you though, go for the european exclusive GB/GBC games ;)
you're pretty close to GBA already with those 600, total number should be 7XX, forget the 1500 mentioned above, completely off

Awesome job, man! At first I didn't see the word "color" in the title of the post. I almost crapped my pants...no one has an original b&w boxed GB collection, as far as I know!
Congrats, dude. :-)

Thank you all for the kind words =)
I am VERY close to a boxed GB collection, but the same 17 boxes or so are just slowing me down temporarily.
I'm not sure the total of GBC games that I have, I know it's over 400, and I know it's every one of them released in the USA. I just kept going list by list marking them off, and never really bothering to count them. I had most of them in storage boxes until I took them out last week to double check and make sure I was not missing any. The only pics I can take right now are all of them on the floor with the other GB games in piles as they are being reorganized ;)
GBA should be closer to 800 I would think by now. I guess 600 is still a pretty nice head start!

Yeah, DreamTR, do you have Room of Doom pics up anywhere? You've got an enormous collection, and I'm sure many, including me, would be glad to see it. I know you're usually modest about those things, but it would still be cool.

Just curious what the 17 original GB games you are missing?? Maybe someone has them on the boards.

He's had a long running post in the B&S forum.
And high grats DreamTR. I don't typically chime in for the "check out my collection of crap" posts but your (almost) complete Color/B&W Gameboy collections are pretty special.
And we do need pics. I've got a relatively modest number of GB/GBA games (around 160 complete) and they take up way too much space as it is. I'd love to see how you're displaying them.
... if you're just storing them though, don't bother ;)
God we need a picture :-P

Thats crazy. What do you do for a living? Seems like you just have money to spend freely no matter what price (Wish I could do that). You definately need to get some pictures of all this stuff.

Check the B&S Forum...DreamTR has been offering outrageous amounts of money for the missing boxes for the last month or so.
Congrats on the GBC; really quite an amazing feat.
Just sidestepping onto 7800,
you can get a Titlematch Pro Wrestling (listed under Pro Wrestling) from Telegames UK for 19.00 UKpounds ($34), he sells overseas and does PP.

As of right now, everything is just on the floor of the apartment, and I have not decided on how to store them as of just yet...
Tom: Thanks for the tip, I actually have picked up some US games from Telegames before, but you have to patient since they are mostly in storage and on large pallettes over there, and I need the OVAL seals of quality Nintendo boxes.....
I'll try and grab some pics of everything while it is on the floor, I'm not too apt on displaying my collection firsthand for everyone to see as much, it's more of a library like atmosphere trying to fit 10K games in a 800-900 sq foot apt when you live with someone....
A few collectors have seen my place firsthand, The Red Eye and Kevin Gifford....
AS for the Wisdom Tree Game Boy releases, I already obtained boxed versions of those awhile ago. Now I'm just waiting for the remaining 17 boxes to show up!
Oh, and as for what I do for a living, I work at a video game peripheral company, but I also supplement income by selling on eBay, that is why I am able to afford games, I'm basically trading games I buy from others and the flea markets out here for more games!
