I missed this auction for "Zap The Rise and Fall of Atari":
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4601050790&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
However, I e-mail the seller and ask if he wants to sell it off site or if he wants to re-list it.
He sells it to me for $12 shipped. I received it today and the binding is brand new, cover is perfect, but the pages are a little yellowed. This wasn't surprising as it is from 1984 and not a reprint.
However, as I'm leafing through it I find some paperwork which indicates that this copy was a review copy sent from the publisher like 22 years ago.
I think that's neat so I consider it a bonus.
What bonus surprises have you gotten from ebay auctions?

I recall buying a certain Growlanser Collection (Japanese PS2) box set... It was supposed to come with two strategy guides (one for the first Growlanser and one for Growlanser IV), but when I got it, it included a certain trio of anime DVDs (Burst Angel 1 & 2 and Kiddy Grade File 1; none of which I'd heard of previously).

I once received a package with several pubic hairs in it. It really wasn't the kind of bonus that I would like but I guess that some would consider it a bonus.

Bought 3 "genesis dev boards" and a daughterboard. On one "dev board" there was Espn Speedway ntsc and on another the pal, unreleased, version. All for $50.

This isn't what I got, but what I gave as a free bonus.
I sold a complete Phantasy Star a few weeks back. When I found it at the flea market, it had everything - including the purchase receipt. I think the price was around $69.
The receipt was from... 1989? 1988? X_x
I didn't mention it to the buyer. I wanted him to find out about it and be surprised. 8-)

This isn't an eBay story, but over Christmas I wanted to get a hardcover copy of one of my friend's favorite books for them for Christmas. I had the idea late and the only place I could think to get one cheap and on short notice was through the Amazon martketplace sellers, who I have had almost nothing but bad experiences with in the past. One guy who only had 30-something transactions but 100% feedback (which is rare as hell in the Amazon marketplace) had a new hardcover copy listed for $18.50 after shipping (sticker price is $30), so I bought it. It came two days before Christmas, was in absolutely perfect shape... and was a first edition (he did not mention this in the description). A first edition of the very same book in much worse condition had just sold on eBay for over $100--I know this because I bid on it. Anyway, both my friend and I were very happy with that transaction.

Count me in for getting an original recipt inside of a complete NES box. It's nice because if the seller mentioned it, I'm sure the system would have gone for a bit more!

Japanese people are notorious for giving the best free bonus crap in packages. One time I bought 3 Famicom multicarts from a seller on Yahoo Japan. I received 9. Maybe he just respected me for being willing to go that far to get cool pirate stuff.

I bought a prototype xbox, and the seller threw in a custom engraved hard drive plate for the 360 that was only given to developers. Plus he threw in a Mt. Dew game fuel hat that was given away in the "every 10 mins" promotion plus a blinking button from the 360 launch party... I was highly impressed...

Most recently I bought a lot of e-Reader cards and got a minty manual to "Deep Blue"... When I do receive bonuses, they are usually manuals or posters.
The guy who won all 3 of my NES lots the other day is getting a "bonus" Donkey Kong sealed e-Reader cards, couple extra manuals, and an couple subscription cards to Nintendo power

I bought some Nintendo promo's off of a seller (clock, doormat, bobblehead, etc) and she tossed in a slew of neat smaller promo's: Nintendo pen, GBA writing pad, GC tape measure...very cool. I was quite impressed.
