Thank you for your continued support on Dreamcast software "F355 Challenge".
We unfortunately decided to close network service of "F355 Challenge" due to technical issue. It will no longer be available on January 16, 2006 noon (Japan time).

We really appreciate your long-term support on this service.
We hope you keep enjoying "F355 Challenge" offline mode and other SEGA titles.

Many of you may not know but yes the DC still works online. Its a very sad day for this SEGA fanboy.

There's talk of petitioning for server software at Dreamcast-Scene for this game... I'm not down with it.

We still have 4x4.

The PAL version of PSO v1 and v2, 4x4 Evo, Quake 3(Only US version), Sega Swirl and Starlancer. I got that info from Dreamcast.OnlineConsoles.com

I'm just glad that I got to experience F355's online play before this. I'm all for a petition because we can't let anymore DC online games go.

I have the import. My online never worked. Same with Mvs.C2, But how I will miss the cheese metal. So what games are left online? And does anyone here still play online?

I know the sever software is Sega's own intellectual property, but I can't imagine it would ever be of any use to them again...I know the petition will never work, but they may license it if the money is right. Bidness is bidness after all.

A few questions to see if anyone knows...

1) Was this a Sega server or someone elses? Wasn't F355 an Acclaim game so was it somehow related to them? (or was that only in Europe? Dead or Alive was a European Acclaim game too...)
2) Why would someone want to license this? Is there any fees associated with using the game?
3) Can you tell me anything more about it?

Just curious on everything. I might be able to try to track down some stuff with it depending on which companies were involved with the servers.

Man, I didn't even know those Sega servers were still up. I have a DC, and my brother mentioned going online with it, but I didn't think servers were still up.

Acclaim had exclusive rights to the Ferrari name in the US at the time so Sega gave them the game to publish. The deal also included some of the Acclaim released PS2 titles based on Sega's ips (Crazy Taxi, 18-Wheeler, F355)

Sorry for thread crapping but, how long do you think Xbox live will last?As far as regular Xbox games go?
Thanks,
Dillon

Well since you pay for it I would think until they weren't making enough money from XBOX 1 game players.
