Hooray for digging up old posts!
UPDATE:
I could have sent in my brand new xbox because of the problem described below, but I decided to live with it. Word of advice: SEND IT IN NO MATTER THE PROBLEM IF IT'S UNDER WARRANTY! A week or two after these problems, I stored my xbox and didn't play it or even hook it up for about a month. Then, yesterday, I dug the thing out and set it up to try out Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2. And... it wouldn't even turn on. It's not the power cord (it works w/ other systems), it's not the outlet, so now I'm boned with a 6 month old xbox that is utterly worthless and 3 months out of warranty. I took great care of this damn thing and what do I get? An quote of $80 dollars from customer support.
Sorry for the rant. I know I'm out of warranty, but does anyone know of any way I could get this thing fixed by them for a more reasonable price? I just want it fixed, but I'm afraid it I get it repaired by someone other than Microsoft, they will fix the power but not the problem I wrote about below (which is probably related to the no power problem) and it'll just crash and burn again. Should I bite the bullet, send it in to Microsoft and buy an extra warranty for a total of about $120? Should I just not worry and get it repaired locally? Or should I just put money toward a 360? Thanks for reading and any input, everyone.
Take care.
Since I suck at formalities...
I got a brand new Xbox for X-mas, and it has worked just fine until I started playing Thief: Deadly Shadows. Every once in awhile when the controller vibrates, the vibration won't stop at all! So I was all like "I'll just replug the controller" not knowing that the game would freeze as soon as I attempted to do so. So then I was all like "well vibration = something I can live without" so I turn it off. Lo and behold when vibration is supposed to happen the sound simply cuts off. Although I haven't tried replugging the AV cords, I was already a little peeved as is.
However, what got me is that when I went to play Deus Ex: Invisible War instead, the same glitch would happen. Is it simply because the games were both developed by the same company? Or is it the Xbox itself?
I didn't mean this thread to sound like a complain-fest. I'm more than happy playing through all the other games on the Xbox, and I just wondered if anyone else experienced the same problems and knew a way to fix em'
Thanks for the help guys!
