I wanted to know which nintendo is more rare, problem is I don't know what the second model was called but will try and explain it.

1. Nintendo M82
2. It is similar to the M82 but does not have removable carts in it, there is 15 games on a single board inside it.

I'm moving this thread to the gaming forum. It doesn't belong in off topic.

Wow, that looks really cool. So the games on the system are preset, or can they be changed?

Hm.. id say the Famicombox. But the M82 is cooler because you can use normal NES games on it. You cant that with the Famicombox.

Uh, Yeah; skem made that one, too: and I'm the one who told him about the other unit in the first place (sorry if I gave you something else to worry about, skem.)

On one hand, the M82 is pretty cool 'cause you can see and change the 12 games in it; leaving-open the possibility for a pretty cool storage module :D...

...On the other hand, the "NES retail demo unit" (It's called that on the site), Seems to be more rare, since it's 16 games are not interchangeable [unless you can actually hack-into it] and there for solid only to those machines.

...so many games, so little time...

Those things were freakin everywhere & theyve ended up being rare. What a shame...people just didnt know what they were throwing away. Im going to have to look into one of these, I wonder what theyre going for these days.

dude, i know what your talkin bout, it's no box of any kind
it's a weird slopped panel with buttons and all the games were built in and runned off of a timer, it had all the early titles liek excitebike mach rider and the such, and also had a light gun, i saw a pic of it but can't remeber where. the pcb had all kinds of roms soldered to it

yes that the one...i was watching one on ebay, the guy took it off and relisted it starting at $350 now. He said there were errors in his original auction, I think it was because it was only at $93 with 1 day to go.

There are 3 different multi game NES systems I know of. They are:

M8 - 16 built in games, gray case with sloped front. This is the one that was auctioned at CGE. All the games are black box era titles that don't need mappers. Inside is a standard NES motherboard with the biggest multicart ever attached. The two rom chips for each game are on one board with the game select logic.

M82 - 12 slots for normal NES games, black rectangle box. I assume there is a standard NES motherboard inside too. I dont have one yet, email or pm if you want to sell one.

Famicom Box - 15 slots for specialized games, gray rectangle box. Standard NES games will not work in it. Was mostly meant for hotels where a coin box could be added.

What would be considered a fair price for a M8?

$500 and 300 sounds about right. The first one is much rarer, so maybe more. What did the one at CGE go for?

bump

I have a few more questions about the M82

How heavy is it?

What were the original 12 games in it?

Last year i got a Super famicom component system from Japan. It was used in japanese hotels and contains 5 games, pay-n-play.

It contains:
Super Mario Collection, Star Fox, Mario Kart, Super Mahjong 2 and Waialae no Kiseki (golf).

I have not been able to open it yet, but I have a power converter, and the key power switch is set to on and I play it often.

I eventually want to get it professionally opened and see if i can put japanese carts in it.

I dont have photos but i will take some and post them up at a later date.

here are some links. shows whats out there. Other companies also made systems for hotels: Neo Geo (holy grail for Neo-Geo collectors) Sega & Nintendo.
