The sonic xtreme post from a few weeks back made me think... What other prototypes or unreleased games would you give your left testicle (figure of speech, for the ladies here) to own a beta, demo, or semi-playable version. Complete or not.

My 2 would be Armada 2 for Sega Dreamcast. Armada was a sweet game, by itself. Now throw in online multiplayer :-P
And the DC version of Castlevania (even though I heard it would've sucked, had they released it)

I wouldn't mind having a copy of all they manged to get of Saturns Shenmue, before they satrted the DC version, as well. But Shenmue isn't a tremendous fave of mine

Sorry if this has been asked, couldn't find one

Left nut = Full M2 Development Prototype complete with software.
Right nut = Well since you said proto i'll take the original Brown Box. LOL of course you could never get that.

Soul = It's already been sold a ton of times but DC CV

Two things that are rumored to exist yet have never been seen...

VB Mario Land (Virtual Boy) - this was shown at Winter CES 1995 and was a remake of the original Super Mario Bros. with some enhancements and reworked gameplay along the lines of the Virtual Boy's capabilities. And if it can't be found then G-Zero / Zero Racers VB protos would be fine. LOL

SFC PlayStation - supposedly Sony produced a very limited run of consoles that would play both Super Famicom cartridges and CD based media shortly after the Nintendo backstabbing, somewhat like how JVC could release the Wondermegas and X'Eye apart from Sega since they designed the technology. It's said that they were all destroyed before they were sent out to developers.

i probably would go for the sonic x-treme just so i could be sure everyone gets it, heh.

i would do questionable / illegal acts for the english xbox version of rent-a-hero

I would really like to own Mega Man Anniversary for GBA, that would be if it doesnt get released. I would never sell my left nut for a proto or anything lol, unless I could sell it later for the same amount I used or more. I'd rather buy 60 GBA games instead of spending $2000 on a proto, but thats just me :)

I'd sell my soul for the Tekken tech demo they used to show off the PS2 hardware.

I would consider, at the very least, a long-term lease of my soul for the release of the one copy of the Odyssey2 Sherlock Holmes: Private Consulting Detective proto that's rumored to exist. (For those not in the know: it's an unreleased Master Strategy Series video/board game combo.)

There isn't that much nut-selling for me, but I'd like to own one of the chunky DS prototypes that Nintendo showed at E3, along with the first Metroid demo, I think that would be kinda cool.

I'm not even sure I'd sell my soul for Alyson Hannigan (or Amber Benson, or Kristen Bell, or... [stream of names edited out for levity, though all were hot women]), much less a videogame.

Why wasn't I informed of this when I had it? I would've had you robbing banks and God knows what else I would've come up with.

I would like to see the Saturn VF3/Shenmue/Sonic the Fighters/Sonic Xtreme/Policenauts and any other decent Saturn ones, but if any of those pop up, they'll go for way too much money (like Sonic Xtreme).

Well, it would all depend on how complete and playable they were, but I'd have to say: Take the Bullet, Thunder Force 6, Geist Force, Black n' White and Half-Life Online all for the Dreamcast. Although I know who owns TtB, the 1player game is complete but they won't release it. And apparently the guys working on the DC conversion of Bn'W made off with a copy. But it's being kept between these 7 or so guys. Oh, and apparently an english version of Sakura Taisen for the DC was sent to SoA for testing.......

As for the Saturn, I'd have to say Shenmue and VF3. Sonic Xtreme never existed as anything more than tech demos.

The Mega CD is a wasteland of unreleased games. Especially as Lucasarts' conversions of Indiana Jones and Cyan's Myst were complete and ready to go. Also Dennin Aleste 2, Captain Commando, Castlevania and Contra.

Then there's the Neo Geo protos, and mainly the 4 missing NGH numbers. I want the bloody MVS version of Ironclad, and it 100% exists.

As for prototype hardware, I'd love to raid Nintendo's R&D1. The colour version of the Virtual Boy that had red, green and blue LEDs. Whatever existed of the Sony/Phillips SFami CD, or the Sony SFami Playstation. Oh and as for Nintendo software, how about the real Ura Zelda for DD64 and MarioDD (Mario64 on a DD disk) that was shown at Spaceworld. Although I'm sure there's far more interesting stuff locked away in Nintendo HQ that we don't even know about.....

ARRRRGGGHHHH. A Sonic RPG?! I want in on some of that!

As for me, Sonic X-Treme. :( Sonic Crackers wouldn't go astray either. I'm not really big on protos, so this would be soley for my Sonic collection.

Does any one even know of any existing Mortal Kombat protos existing?
I can't say i have heard of any....

Wasn't the Sonic & Knuckles RPG nothing more than a 'annouced' title. I'd be extremely interested if they actually did anything with this game. I have never really heard anything on it, other than the annoucement of it.

Nevertheless, I'd kill three hookers, or sell my soul, for Sonic X-Treme and Resident Evil 1.5. Fo Sho.

Mortal Kombat protos: Are you talking unreleased or released? I have a few released ones that are different, but mainly in text changes, some say WORK IN PROGRESS on the gameplay screen.

I HAVE X-Men for 32x....

I used to have Rent-A-Hero for XBOX, one of the last of my disk protos...

I wouled give my left nut for Incredible HUlk for 2600, because it would enable me to get more nuts from others ;)

Well, I can't sacrifice anything for it (my testies help me keep my balance), but I'd kill a few people to get my hands on the following:

1. Complete PSRM list from Sony
2. Complete List of Trade Demos released (not just 'known')
3. The SNES CD-ROm Add-on with at least one playable game.
4. Get Olaf Olafsson back on the sony gig...

...and one of them would be mine. Inty Hulk would work too.

Protos I'd enjoy owning:
Any of the 'Inty Parker Bros 5' that the boxes were found but not the games: Hulk, Spiderman, James Bond, Star Wars: Jedi Arena, Lord of the Rings
Inty Smurf, It's gotta be out there!

Inty CBS games: Gorf, Wizard of Wor, Blueprint.
2600 Turbo, another "should be out there" game

Basically, if it's an unreleased proto of a an arcade port for a Pre-Crash system, I'm interested.

Nice selection.. Sherlock Holmes sounded interesting. That reminds me - the Pink Panther proto for Odyssey 2, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on. Maybe even an Odyssey 3, since supposedly almost all the O3's that were manufactured are supposedly still lingering around Knoxville from ex-magnavox plant workers.

I would definitely love to get a Castlevania 4 Famicom/NES prototype. Yes, that's not SNES/SFC...NES/FC.

Come to think of it, a lot of Konami proto stuff would be great to have. Contra prototypes, wonder if there are any...

How about the Mother 3 proto for N64 or N64DD? I'd also love to have a legitimate Mother/Earthbound for NES proto, although the English version of that game can be had easily enough.
