You're using Gamestop dates as fact? LOL LOL
No, it's not been delayed because no date has ever been given for it yet.

Retailers use placeholder dates. They're there mostly to assist in tricking people to "pre-order" games. Until a formal date is announced by Nintendo themselves anything you see posted is somebody's "educated" guess. Gamestop had a new date for Halo 2 every month from early 2002 until Bungie actually announced the date sometime in 2004.

That goes without saying, especially I, a vet of GameStop and GameCrazy.
Yet since Nintendo made no exact date, they are playing the flute like a piped piper to a pack of rats...

It was delayed to Nintendos fiscal year 2006, which begins April 1st. So anytime after that date is possible, and thats the only info Nintendo has given.

The release date seems forever. As long as the quality for the game is there, I think it will be all worth it.

I don't see how something that's never had a release date to begin with can really be 'delayed', but this is still frustrating. I want this game, dammit.

Wasn't there a rumor that it was going to be released for the REV? Hence why it's being pushed back.

It's just a rumor, and a completely baseless one at that. There has be absolutely zero reason to believe that it will be released for the revolution. A delay to increase the quality of the game is pretty much par for the course in this industry, and thats all it is.
Twilight Princess is a GameCube game.

good to hear, My son keeps asking me when it's coming out. Guess I shouldn't had told him it was coming out on the REV.

I beg to differ. It's on par for Nintendo perhaps, especially for their bigger franchises (although I've heard Wind Waker was brought to market missing a couple of dungeons), but lots of games come to market without waiting to 'increase the quality' of them.

Twilight Princess is a GameCube game.
I was recently told that the game was being released for the Gamecube but would play of the Revolution since the Revolution is backwards compatible with all Gamecube games. Since this is a high profile game and its going to be released about the same time as the Revolution Nintendo wanted to retool it so that it would be compatible with their funky new Revolution controller.

It makes sense, but Nintendo also debunked that rumor. Kind of. Definitely still a rumor though.

Are you surprised? I'm not. This going to be their big Christmas seller. Nintendo wouldn't want it any other way.

you'd think a mario or smash bros. revolution game would do that for them

EXACTLY. The Rev should be their big Christmas seller. Give us Zelda... now. :) But it's all good either way, and I guess Nintendo is really setting themselves up for a steller holiday opportunity.

I agree with your last statement - they're gonna sell out of Rev's no matter what they release for it (or come darn close to it). Besides, Mario is their best launch mascot, not Link.
There's still money to be made by taking advantage of the Gamecube installed base and there's nothing like a Zelda game to use that advantage to it's fullest during Xmas time :)

I really don't mind at all anymore, just as long as it comes out sometime this year. Shit, I think it would be better for Nintendo to release ZELDA for Revolution instead of GC.
Just think how many systems that would sell, added on Smash Bros and another Mario, Rev. would be in good shape starting off.

I dont know if this will sound to good, but being the 3rd Key at Gamestop, We are telling our customers that the game has been officially delayed until SEPTEMBER now. They said that it is going to be playable on the Gamecube as well as the Revolution. This is sad sad news i know, im sorry :(

Sucks about the delay, but if Nintendo can make this a must-want item later this year along with retooling it for the Revolution, then this delay is warranted.

It will be right after Sony's speach announcing that PS3 games will run on 8-bit cartridges and retail for $1,400.

Definately, the longer it's in production, it can only get better! (Either way, I have already reserved my copy of the game and have already paid in full)
I'D just assume the game come out for Revolution.
