there are many educational "consoles" that should be added if you add this

That's pretty cool, I would love to see a complete list of games. Where was that console released?

well i guess that's the problem, i don't think it used cartridges, and thus it's not going to be included here at DP, we only include cartridge based systems and (except the dedicated GAME systems)

I think it's probably more because no-one has offered to compile the list yet - I'd imagine it could be added if anyone wanted to make the effort...

Actually, I HAVE a basic list, and yes it DID take cartridges.

This one was sold as the Yeno Prof. Weiss-Alles in Germany. It had a bunch of edutainment carts released for it.

The question is this: Do we include all "educational" game systems? Sure, we already have View-Master InteractiveVision and Sega Pico, but then those types of "systems" were few.
Now it seams that a new kind of Pixter (http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=2280&e=hasflash) comes out every day.
Do we also add Video Buddy (http://www.videobuddy.com/VideoBuddy/Main/Parents.aspx)?
What about the Vtech V.Smile?
It's not only a home console, but a handheld as well:

http://www.toysdirect.co.uk/products/small/vsmilepocket.jpg
It uses cartridge media.
Do we also add this and catalog its games?
Is it a console? Yes. Is it a game system? I don't know. I would never collect for it. However, I might for my children one day.

I don't think educational toys are counted as "game" consoles.

I think these systems should be in the database as soon as someone has a good list for them. They have cartridges and you can play games with them. (That's enough for me...)
I've started buying them on fleamarkets (when I find them boxed) and there are a lot of diferent systems. In Germany most of them are sold under the Vtech/Yeno and the Hartung lable.
As Speedy_NES said, the Socrates was sold as "Yeno Prof. Weiss-Alles" in Germany.
The following systems take cartridges:
Yeno Mein Erster Computer
Yeno Mister X
Yeno Spiel-Master (There is a Voice-Cartridge for this one.)
Hartng JC-Lap-Top
Hartung Junior Computer JC
Hartung Megaduck (It plays the cartridges from the handheld with the same name, but there are also cartridges which were made specially for the educational computer.)
Would be interesting to see under wich name they where released elsewhere... If someone wants to make lists, I could help a bit.

Sorry Matías, I'll try to get a list out to you "one of these days"...

I saw this on ebay:

Should be on a Socrates List... (In case someone wants to make such a list.)

And I'm still looking for the Megaduck educational stuff...
This is the educational stuff I have:
JC 500 Mega Duck Junior Computer System (The system)
JC 501/01 Speichermodul (a memory cart)
JC 501/05 Ergänzungsmodul Zeichnen (a drawing program)
JC 501/06 Ergänzungsmodul Musik (a music program)
JC 501/07 Ergänzungsmodul Bilderlexikon (don't know, I don't have that one but it's offered on ebay for a long time)
AD 500/09 Orginal Mega Duck Netzadapter (a psu)
There's a list of cartridges and other stuff on the systems box, but they say that not all of it is released yet. So take this as rumors...
JC 501/02 Ergänzungsmodul Mathe 1 (Math)
JC 501/03 Ergänzungsmodul Deutsch 1 (German)
JC 501/04 Ergänzungsmodul Englisch 1 (English)
JC 501/08 Ergänzungsmodul Data Bank
JC 501/09 Ergänzungsmodul Super Quiz
JC 501/10 Ergänzungsmodul Voice Card (I would love to have that one!)
JC 501/11 Ergänzungsmodul Französisch 1 (French)
JC 501/12 Ergänzungsmodul Schreibmaschinen-Kurs (typewriter-course)
JC 510 Thermo Drucker (a printer)
JC 510/01 Thermopapier-Rolle (paper for the printer)
JC 520 Drucker-Interface (an interface to conect your your Mega Duck with a standard IBM compatible printer)
Hope that helps.
