And on a related topic, if APPLE came out with a portable gaming device would you buy it?
Steve bringing Woz onstage at a "MacWorld Expo" welcoming him back into the fold to introduce the device & giving everyone a warm fuzzy feeling that finally someone was gonna stick it to Nintendo & who better than Apple by viably competing with them in handheld competition.

those arent halflife videos, they are doom... what the hell is that supposed to prove? doom has been ported to virtually every appliance with a screen that has ever existed.

No. And nothing against Apple, there are just too many handhelds on the market, at the moment. And even the mighty Ipod brand name can't take on the GBA, DS, PSP. Nowadays, when I think Apple, Ipod immediately comes to mind. Not game machine...
Even in the Apple ][ days, Apple was always considered more of a buisness comany than a game company. Arguably, the same can still be said today. There's just not enough game support on the Mac, now, to warrant Apple releasing one.
In a few years, if there aren't as any handhelds as there are today - which I doubt, I'd possibly buy one.

Apple can't even get games ported to their computers, so I wouldn't put too much stock in any portable they might produce.
I would, however, like to see an iTunes style service for ROMs, either on one of the current handhelds, or something new.
